    Diesel electrics are about the low speed torque. Getting a half mile long train started is just a tough problem.

    To be fair, this is only a flying testbed. Commercial applications are, optimistically, decades off.

    Doesn't appear to carry many batteries, rather an oversized APU to drive the electric engine(s).

    Define 'software architect'. Seriously, danger will robinson.

    That title has been abused to hell and back in the last 10+ years. Some places it means 'very senior dev', some places 'project tech lead', but in some other places it means 'business knowledge specialist' or 'systems analyst'.

    Frameworks, if used at all, ARE fundamental decisions. Beware choosing 'new hotness'. Always consider escape plans. Needs to be made at the highest technical level, after some limited discussion (generally limited to first hand experience, theoreticians shown door).

    Going around corners, basically two things matter. Tires and weight. Changing the direction the car points isn't the main challenge. Grip is.

    Tesla tires are pretty standard. Heavier means worse handling. It is that simple.

    Roadster 1 vs Lotus Elise performance in corners makes this clear.

    That said, it's a street car. It's already going to have problems with the insurance institute, those fuckers are no fun at all.

    10x the power thru the cables...Just how high is 'old Musky' planning on pushing the voltage? Alternatively how thick will the cables be?

    Even cheap LiPo chargers used in RC charge individual cells (assuming the pack is wired for it). That's old tech. It's more or less required to get maximum life from the packs.

    An emergency backup unit that runs a couple of times/year does not have a 100% CF. CF is a simple metric. Look it up, it will save you from looking like a moron in future. Too late for today.

    Most of the radioisotopes from a coal plant are in the bottom ash. Which is only not toxic waste by act of congress. Bottom ash is technically uranium ore, it could be economic to extract.
