    Not going to be that cheap, having a solar cell built in.

    Musk is comparing his roofing to ceramic tile. Not steal shingles, much less asphalt composite shingles (the last is fair, they have shit durability).

    Roofs like ceramic tile and slate (in 2016) are architectural elements, not a type that is chosen economically. This will start in botique construction, I bet you see it on northern exposures at high latitudes (where the solar cells are useless).

    I'm actually curious to see how they do the interconnect. If you need an electrician soldering each tile to a bus, it's a non-starter. I'm sure it's not that fucked up, but if you just have them 'autoattach' when nailed down you could get welding voltages/amperages on the roof while installing. How do they do edges, valleys and ridges (always the tricky parts of roofing). Also curious if he has lower cost inactive but matching tiles for northern exposures.

    Tweaker roofers will just do these jobs at night and continue not sleeping. They will also invent insane contraptions with these, welders, solar vapourizers etc.

  5. Registration fraud is the traditional, biggest and easiest way to rig a US election.

    Easy to solve with 3rd world style finger ink to mark voters. But that will never happen.

    You cannot prove a negative. But if they were altered the DNC could prove that in a second.

    The DNC could show the originals. The fact they haven't, tells me they are unaltered.

    Also note: cryptographic signatures put there by the server show the messages are genuine and unaltered. Sure the NSA could fake that, but likely nobody else.

    Still millions of ballots that will never be counted.

    Absentee ballots in most states with clear winners are not counted.

    The popular vote is 'too close to call', statistical tie. Doesn't matter anyhow.

    Anybody who had ignored all the evidence up to then was in the tank for Hillary and no additional evidence would change their minds.

    What cost Clinton the election? Voter turnout. She was not Obama, so blacks stayed home. Trump's redneck voters were not expected to vote but did.

    What drove that? Black racism and angry trailer parks. None of which were served by Hillary's campaign strategy. Blacks were taken for granted, trailer trash were called 'despicables'.

    The one I rented in Sacramento was TERRIBLE. No power (I drove a similar displacement Honda CIVIC at the time, much, much better. 40 more HP easy.)

    It wasn't just the throttle by wire that was brain dead. The slush box wouldn't downshift even in 'sport' mode (it might, maybe, in about a minute after trying to go at 1500RPM first). It was programmed to game the EPA milage standard to the point it is dangerously unresponsive. Mush for suspension (but that's just standard for econo cars).

    Say something nice: The brakes were OK, for a slow car.

    At the volume Apple makes, everything is scheduled way ahead of time anyhow. They have little need for through hole, 2 layer boards.

    Low volume is hand work.

    This is largely comparing the running costs of two largely automated factories and assuming all subassemblies are still made where they currently are.

    Foxconn has no reason to lowball this cost, rather the opposite.

    You exaggerate.

    Even for the biggest customer you can't make CNC machines run at infinite speed. Heat treatment takes time. EDM is not instant. Polishing can take 2 days alone.

    There is also another side to that mythical 2 day turnaround. The other client that got their incomplete mold repurposed and parts run aborted so that Apple could get a 2 day toolup and prototype run. It's all great if you assume you will be the Apple player, kind of sucks for the other guy though.
