    They already have 'immortal' liver cells. They use them in artificial livers.

    'immortal' liver cell = a certain type of liver cancer.

    If a cell divides in a bucket, it's likely to have it's growth regulation unhooked. Maybe not technical a cancer cell...but I bet the guy that cooks it up knows _all_ about cancer cell division.

    I have four carrots (vegetarians) and one carrot with halo (vegan) painted on my smoker.

    You know you want a rib...even better a smoked hog jowl. Nice spicy rub, smoke ring, homemade blackberry, chocolate BBQ sauce...you know you want two or three...some nice jalapeno corn bread, made with lard and covered in browned melted cheese...corn on the cob covered in butter...Czech style pilsner...(repeat till tired).

    You know you want one, you can eat just one...

  7. All the kids have computers, but those computers are overcomplicated and the kids are (as a group) just not interested in the internals.

    One thing about a trash80, crapple, C64 or Amiga: With a little time invested, you could know everything there was to know about them. Kid geeks like to master things, 'getting a handle' on Android will never feel as good.

    It would be great if you could backup relationships.

    'Wanna fuck?' changes things. Doing a restore if you get a no could get you another chance, plus information to improve your odds. ('Pardon me miss, would you think I was too forward if I asked you to sit on my face?')

    Might also work for getting raises etc.

    He was known to draw a sketch on a napkin and leave it as a tip. Those were worth thousands at the time and tens of thousands now.

    More basically, digital art is different. There is no original.

    NN usually allows QoS.

    As it should. NN is tricky.

    Good thing we put it in the hands of our wise and incorruptible politicians, they are sure to do a good job and efficiently correct any mistakes they make. (Does that really need a /sarc?)

    QoS is allowed under every net neutrality law I'm aware of.

    And it should be. VOIP packets are higher priority than torrents etc.

    The problem is net neutrality has tricky implementation details. Which are now under regulatory capture.

    Increasing competition would have been a much better way to fix this. Now we've got the usual suspects fucking up laws on NN.

    They almost all use easements over private land. Same as many roads. The ISPs and power companies do pay to maintain the posts and wires.

    You (the homeowner) don't get paid for easements, the original developer didn't ether. They are there because otherwise you couldn't get power to your house. It's in your self interest to allow the easements.

    Jesus tap dancing christ, you are playing stupid. Payroll taxes don't cover SS outlays, haven't for years and won't again cover the costs for decades.

    Granting the blame lies with all politicians back to FDR (with a particular large dose of blame on him). Doesn't change the FACT it's the single biggest holder of US debt and is certain to be paid back by printing money.

    Spare me the oil company subsidies lies. We've already beat that to _death_. Big fat lies everywhere. Gas taxes being used to pay for roads are counted as subsidies, regular business expense deductions are counted as subsidies etc etc. No credibility left there, sorry.

    Everybody owns Euro printing presses. Their baby boom retirement is no more funded than the USA's (in general, Norway is one exception, England is the worst, they just took pensions 'off book' and said 'done'). Every economy except Germany is in the shitter. Even Germany's education system is failing on the bottom 25% (just like most countries always have).

    Have you been to Europe?

    I'm the first person in my family born in the USA. Germany is now graduating native german students out of highschool that can't multiply. Think about what used to make Germany a good place to do business, sure the people are expensive, but at least they are educated, not anymore.

    Easiest way to see which places are a mess. Immigration flows. People vote with their feet.

    Also note the 'refugee crisis' is a flow roughly equal to what the USA has been absorbing yearly for 30 years. At least we don't need to listen to their self righteous blather about beeners anymore.

    Obama is doing a bad job of maintaining the stalemate. We don't want the shia to actually win. It's time to cut military aid to Iraq.

    The Sunnis and Shia are fighting each other. It's a 1000 year old war, so it's unlikely to stop soon.

    That is good. We want them fighting each other, it keeps them distracted and broke.

    Bush played 'the idiot', while the Iraqis and Iranians did exactly what they were expected to. The war ties up Saudi funding as well.

    It's all great.
