I do like the idea, but the problem comes back to what Nintendo said previously. "We do not want for other consoles to steal our ideas." Knowing Microsoft and Sony, it is not difficult to see that they TOO will now offer old classic downloads. Nintendo only stated that they will offer their collection but there was no mention about old Konami, Capcom, etc., games. I can see Microsoft paying large amounts of money to make Konami's old classics exclusives to their Xbox live service. Another thing to ponder is, "Because Nintendo is the publisher of GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, does that mean that those titles will also be exclusive to Revolution?"
I know most console games aren't that large and those that are, use 2 discs, but HD content takes ALOT of space even if its encoded with H.264 codec. MGS4 could easily take 12 GBs if the FMVs are in HD. Microsoft would be really stupid if they would give all the horsepower to create HD content and give you a tiny space to put it in.
1 Hour of HD video(H.264) = 2.67 GB.
I doubt they are going to use DVD media, but if they are, I will be first one laughing at them.
And 3 cores for PPC would be the greatest achievement known to man (slashdot man). 2 cores I believe, but 3, no. IBM has not been able to even make dual core G5s.

WindWaker - the first time you go inside the Mother & Child Isle and you see the main fairy who is a child and blows petals to heal you is just amazing. You are awed at the art direction and beauty of the game that few can match.
RE4 - countless moments of fright/excitement when you know you will have to face an extraordinary opponent or *SPOILER* when you see the TWO giants/gigantes coming through the door to stomp on you or the first time you get your head cut OFF regardless of health. Truly one of the best games ever made.
Xbox has great momentum right now,(I am Nintendo type of guy), but this would be shooting themselves on the foot. The XBOX has been out for 4 years by Nov. Every successful console has lasted 6+ years on the market.

This is a grave mistake, but I am happy because this will bring the console war only to Sony's and Nintendo's door. Microsoft does not see that with the DS and PSP out, consumers will be split on what to buy and this will cannabilize their sales.
Xcode is mainly for programming Mac Apps, but Eclipse is an amazing IDE for JAVA that allows for code completion, automatic generation of classes (that extend classes), and has a multitude of plugins (UML, textToHtml, etc). If you want an environment that closely resembles.NET, you have to go with Eclipse.
The other cool thing is that Eclipse is available for Windows as well, so you can easily edit your code with either of your machines because Eclipse allows for CVS projects.
Another option is Netbeans, but that is not really an option since Eclipse exists.
Advance Wars: Under Fire for the Gamecube. Someone posted above to watch out for this game, but this really does not give this game enough merit. Anyone who has played 2D Advance Wars know that these games are all about gameplay. All the richness of gameplay in a ThirdPerson Shooter/Pikmin style of control just blows my mind. What is amazing is that you can control helicopters, troops, and tanks! This game is coming from the makers of Call of Duty: Finest Hour and Shigeru Miyamoto. I think that this game will be the biggest surprise of the year. Zelda doesn't count because we all know that game will be terrific.

This would NEVER. EVER happen. Referring to another post, yes the Japanese corporate culture yields loyalty and pride. If you look at other Japanes companies that would have been bought by M$FT you begin to see a correlation in that they didn't sell out. Rare and Bungie (non-Japanese) companies sold out but Sega opted to go with Sammy, a much smaller company when compared to M$FT. M$FT could have offered Sega TWICE the amount Sammy offered them, but they chose to go with a Japanese company.
And regarding previous posts about XBOX profitability (oxymoron), there is NO SUCH THING AS XBOX PROFITABILITY, NONE, NADA, ZIPPO, ZILCH. The XBOX will never be profitable in this generation. This comes from a M$FT post so hopefully this will convince people about their XBOX profitability delusions.

On a separate note. I think the GC is the best console released by Nintendo to date. It has great games, (you cannot compare Zelda OOT and Mario 3), their lineup keeps getting more amazing. I own 12 GC games and haven't played all of them due to lack of time, yet they keep on releasing great games and have a great upcoming schedule. Some of the games I own are Pikmin, Resident Evil, SC 2, Mario Kart, MP 4, Metroid Prime, Viewtiful Joe, WindWaker, Ikaruga, Super Monkey Ball, and Prince of Persia. I think this small amount of games would satisfy even the most hardcore gamer out there.
For anyone who has posted ideas about how Sony is doing this in order to fight Microsoft, I'd like to suggest to reconsider. Microsoft is NOT the 800 lb. gorilla in the cosole market. NOT even close. It holds 2nd place in the US ONLY and is 3rd world wide. The ONLY reason it has fared this well it is because it sells a PC for $150. If you have kept up with the specifications for the Xbox2, you know that it will not be as powerful as the first Xbox was at its time; therefore, it will lose some of its mass appeal. I own all 3 consoles and Halo, but one or 5 good titles do NOT make a console. Look at Dreamcast, granted, Sega had other problems as well, but their original lineup was impressive. Xbox2 must have a superb lineup in order to stay a close 3rd in world wide sales. Sony is trying to appeal to developers and correct its mistakes with the PS2 (difficulty in programming). I prefer Nintendo over the other 2 consoles, but I am realistic. I know it won't beat out PS3 and I am sure Microsoft won't be a real contender. Microsoft will not keep on throwing money after 9 years. By that time they will have lost 4 billion dollars, with a B.
I think the site is trying to hint at the new race that will join the covenant. The trailer talks about how the Earth is in the way of the covenant. I think this new race has a "hive" and the words Phasmidia Elegans(type of worm) hint at their physical structure. I think the excerpts that allude to loneliness taken from Gulliver's Travels and Shakespeare's The Tempest are hinting at "the monitor" from Halo 1. He is in an unknown planet.
