Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Besides the Micro and some more Revolution details, the Nintendo Press Conference also set our eyes on a new trailer for the upcoming Legend of Zelda title. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, to be precise. Gamespot has a run-down and the trailer. From the article: "Yeah, we'll repeat that for emphasis: in the new Legend of Zelda game, Link will apparently be able to turn into a werewolf. The gameplay effects of this are only hinted at in the new trailer; oddly enough, it appears that Link will have some kind of partner in crime that will actually ride him like a horse while he's in wolf form." Update: 05/18 19:42 GMT by Z : Changed link to Gamespot's more in-depth trailer analysis.
he looks like a regualar wolf to me. not a half man, half wolf sort of thing.
In once case it's just a change of form from one natural creature to another, which we've seen before in the series. In the other it's (depending on which mythology you choose to believe in) a curse which turns you into a supernatural creature.
Is he going to be vulnerable to silver and have to change during the full moon? Or will he just be a wolf some of the time? I'm guessing that the use of the term werewolf in the summary was probably a mistake.

it appears that they think Link will turn into a wolf by night, and Zelda into an eagle (or falcon, or something) by day, sort of along the lines of the characters in the movie "movie Ladyhawke." I'm just basically parrotting this from the article, though.
I think it could lend itself to some interesting gameplay. Maybe cooperative multiplayer, sort of like with Tingle in the The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? Hopefully it would be more in-depth than that was, though.... My wife was bummed to have to sit out all of the boss fights.

I think it is Zelda that rides Link when in wolf form, but only that she rides him when SHE turns into Sheik.
Susanna: NO! A si NO. Octavio: Pos...entonces como?
I wonder what the ESRB rating will be.

Unfortunately, this game will be delayed when Yamauchi returns to Nintendo for the company's free employee breakfast on Friday and happens to stray past some Zelda screenshots showing a wolf. He will comment that perhaps the game would be better served as a new Starfox title, and thus will be born Starfox: Hyrule Planet. Thus the franchise that can do no wrong is turned into the franchise that everyone keeps trying to murder in its sleep.
From the looks of the trailer, I'm guessing that the eponymous Princess... er, the other one in this case, is the one riding the Linkanthrope, and not Zelda/Sheik.
Ok princess, not only has he NOT managed to vanquish Evil once and for all- he is also as ugly as a dog! Move on Zelda, you can do better! ;)
Don't worry about putting a spoiler on the main page of slashdot. Month of ignoring all information about the newest Zelda game isn't that big of a deal...

That's a Game Cube game.

OH, WELL THEN.. I'm an idiot. But I'm still buying a 360. ;)
Just because you jerked off to it, doesn't mean its gay porn. If it did, then every State of the Union speech would be gay porn.
So where's this twilight princess I keep hearing about? *grrowl*
"OH, WELL THEN.. I'm an idiot. But I'm still buying a 360. ;)"
Hehe. Well I'd encourage you to wait until Nintendo actually shows some video or screens. A couple of sites reported that the 2-3 times as powerful as the GameCube bit was a misquote.
I have no idea what's true, so it's more 'wait and see'. We're bound to find out a LOT more this August at the SpaceWorld show in Japan. (that is, of course, assuming that E3 doesn't yield more info...)
On the one hand, I can't imagine Nintendo would make a machine so significantly inferior. On the other, a $200 machine with cool controllers and a library of 20 years worth of games... well even if it's not graphically that impressive, that'd still be a hell of a buy.
I just can't believe I'm actually excited about a Sony game machine for once.

HEY, LISTEN!
*shudder*
I just can't believe I'm actually excited about a Sony game machine for once.
I'm pretty excited about the PS3 too, then again, I've also owned the previous Playstations. I worry about the controller though. I looked like the Boomerang 3rd party controller for the PS1. I wouldn't have minded them redesigning the controller if it was something similar to the Xbox or Gamecube controllers where the analog stick is the the default one. It seems with the dual shock, my thumb naturally gravitates to the digital pad.

A group of mine was in the E3 Zelda playable area around 5:15 to 5:30pm on the second day of the show on Thursday. In the second playable area, the castle, where you actually have some walking combat, one of out camera bags were left at the far corner to the right of the exit in front of a playable station. The camera bag is medium sized and the covering is worn considerably. It has a double zip top and a side compartment with a blue lettering "Tempo" logo badge. Inside this compartment is my business contact card. I will confirm the contents of the bag if someone knows anyone that has it. Please please, if you have any information or if you saw it please contact me at jeff.greeson /at\ realmmedia .com.
Thank you!
