Roasting is just a part of the process of making coffee, and I prefer the rich/bitter taste of "over-roasted" coffee (French/Viennese roast). Unfortunately, I still do not like Starbucks regular coffee... And I don't really like Gevalia either. For anyone like me, I'd suggest ordering an Americano (espresso with hot water). The espresso tastes much better than the regular coffee, and adding water makes it last longer.
I used to hate Starbucks not just for the coffee, but also because I thought they were putting independant coffee houses out of business, but that's just an urban legend. Their real effect is quite the opposite. Here is an interesting article on the subject.
In fact, the overwhelming negative response to the second movie was entirely predictable well before it was even made. Expectations are a HUGE part of people's ejoyment of entertainment, so it was utterly impossible that the sequal to The Matrix could be widely enjoyed. After the nearly religeous zeal (need I say "cult") surrounding the first movie, everyone's expectations were unacheivably high. But after that dissapointment had been experienced, expectations for the third movie were more reasonable... and lo and behold, many more people liked it (many still hated it, but I think that was still residual expectations from the first one).
Anyway, despite a few painful scenes, and after I convinced myself not to dwell on comparisons with the original, I really enjoyed both Reloaded and Revolutions. Besides being entertaining, they had some interesting stuff to think about... and I like thinking about things.
Dude, if you are a technical worker in the West(tm), and aren't in the top 30%, you need to quit your job immediately and start looking for a new one... your're being royally screwed!
Based on this census info the median HOUSEHOLD income in the US is ~$42K, while this salary survey says that the average regular tech worker's individual income is ~$67K.
To be even more pedantic-
If you were to orbit the earth at ground level, you could go a little bit slower than orbiting at 100km (ignoring problems like friction and the fact the the earth is not a perfect sphere). Orbital physics are a little counter-intuitive, but you must expend energy - and speed up - to rise into a higher orbit. Yet your angular velocity (the rate at which you circle the center point of orbit) decreases.
It's "news" for dummies.
With current technologies (and the amount of time we've been looking) we can only detect very large planets that are quite close their parent star...
SURPRISE!!!! We've only found systems with large planets close to the parent star.
Big news.
