Which news source would you prefer then? Just because you do not like Fox News does not mean that they do not report legitimate news. Sure, the article was a bit sensationalist but all news services are about sensationalism and all are biased. We just don't like when news services are biased differently than we are.

In your opinion. In my opinion the Democratic party is worse. Now, neither of us has any unbiased and reliable data to support our beliefs so who is correct? We cannot both be correct. Both parties could be similarly "repulsive", the Democrats could be worse, or the Republicans could be worse. But as it stands it is simply a matter of opinion.

EA's Dragon Age: Origins was surprisingly bug-free. I'm always amazed at how quickly the game starts up. I can open the game and be playing within 20 seconds on a three year old Dell (it has a 1.8 GHz Core Duo - not Core 2 Duo - with 2 GB RAM). Exiting out of the game is similarly quick. I recently applied patches EA released (okay, Bioware) but they were mainly adjusting balance or minor things like that. Anyway, Dragon Age is one EA game I was super-impressed with the release.

That's too bad you had a poor experience. I purchased the game and never had a single problem with it on my almost 3 year old slim Dell (with an upgraded and decent but far from top of the line AMD/ATI card). I've never had a crash with the game and it runs very well on my slightly underpowered machine. I really think it is a driver problem.

I'm sorry but I cannot believe that some people on Slashdot still think Pres. Bush is responsible for our country's economic problems. His fiscal policies did not help (unless you are a Keynesian economist; in that case him starting two wars and increasing government spending {technically Congress started the wars and increased the spending, but we'll ignore that fact like many liberals conveniently do} actually helped the economy) but our economic problems were not caused by Pres. Bush any more than they were caused by FDR or JFK or Nixon or Reagan or Clinton. If you blame anyone, blame Congress but I think we the people are the most to blame for our unreasonable spending.

I'll get modded down to oblivion but I think we should have kept the ban on alcohol exactly for the reasons the parent poster stated. Alcohol is dangerous - small amounts don't (usually) do anything but over time it's not good for people, especially their brains. Alcohol dissolves brain tissue - particularly the neurons in the cerebellum. Alcohol can weaken the blood brain barrier (over time) and cause all sorts of problems. Most of our automobile accidents are mainly due to alcohol. Much of our crime is due to (or greatly exacerbated by) alcohol.

Besides, during Prohibition organized crime rates may have gone up but overall crime rates went down. Prohibition was effective but too many people didn't want it for it to last. That's fine - that was the will of the people but I still think it should have lasted.

Losing weight is an easy formula: intake fewer calories than you expend. Doing that can be hard for various reasons but weight loss boils down to that one principle. That's what we teach people who come to our clinic for help with their weight. The key is that you have to eat the right kind of calories so you stay healthy - you just restrict how much you eat. Exercise will help up to a point - after that, people start gaining weight because they gain muscle mass (that's a good thing though).

I know that quote is humorous but it is technically wrong. "Average" intelligence extends +/- 10 points the mean IQ score (set at 100, with a standard deviation of 15) - although, there are people who consider average to be +/- 20 IQ points. In any case, 50-68% (or even higher) of people have "average" IQ (intelligence).

This means that the "average" person only has a maximum of 25% of the population with a lower IQ. I know that's technical but when we (psychologists) talk about average intelligence, average != the mean. Average is a range.

    Okay, I'm done being pedantic.
