Ever since Australia allied themselves with their German neighbors in WWII, I have held great disdain for them. Let them develop their own pop culture.
I generally agree -- but the discussion revolves around people that are ignoring the copyright before it expires. This is a crime. If you disagree with the law you should work to change it. Until then, it remains a crime.
"Depending on the aircraft's altitude, sonic booms reach the ground two to 60 seconds after flyover. However, not all booms are heard at ground level. The speed of sound at any altitude is a function of air temperature. A decrease or increase in temperature results in a corresponding decrease or increase in sound speed. Under standard atmospheric conditions, air temperature decreases with increased altitude. For example, when sea-level temperature is 58 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature at 30,000 feet drops to minus 49 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature gradient helps bend the sound waves upward. Therefore, for a boom to reach the ground, the aircraft speed relative to the ground must be greater than the speed of sound at the ground. For example, the speed of sound at 30,000 feet is about 670 miles per hour, but an aircraft must travel at least 750 miles per hour (Mach 1.12, where Mach 1 equals the speed of sound) for a boom to be heard on the ground."
To add the parent's correct posting, sonic booms do occur subsonically local to the aircraft. The airflow is often accelerated to sonic levels as it travels over portions of the aircraft wings. This is actually one of the major causes of the "sonic barrier." These local sonic exceedences can screw with the lift, causing the aircraft to lose control.
A gentleman by the name of Chuck knew this and said, "So what. It's worth the risk."
You will hear a sonic boom anytime something travels faster than the speed of sound at your location. Typically, this means an aircraft must travel abut Mach 1.15 above you for you to hear the boom on the ground. An aircraft travelling Mach 1 will typically not produce a boom on the ground as the speed of sound is greater on the ground than it is at altitude. And, of course, anything travelling faster (i.e. Mach 4) will cause a boom as well.
It's their stuff. Period. If they want to charge $100/CD they can. If you think $100/CD is too much, then don't buy it. Just because you disagree with their selling price doesn't justify your theft. They have every right to prosecute you like the shoplifting lowlife that you are.
Not at all -- if you attempt to service Hubble, the risk of not completing the ISS is non-zero. If you don't make the attempt, you add no additionl risk.
NASA has determinetd that ISS is a higher priority (as it should be -- there are international committments). There's more risk in servicing the Hubble than not -- and any additional risk makes finishing the ISS less likely.
Huh? How do you make it "accessible?" Make it up on volume right? Sure... Lower the price and lose dollars, er pounds, faster?
The Concorde will only be surpassed by this Eurogov social program in its ability to lose cash. Have you noticed that even Airbus has admitted that the future is in 7E7-class jets...
Actually, I wasn't referring to the accident -- I was referring to the commercial success. Note that Concorde had no commercial success...
Regarding the accident -- tragic. To say it was sabotage is just disrespectful to everyone -- the victims, the industry, and the engineering (not commercial) marvel that is/was the Concorde. But let's face it, Concorde never paid the rent...
Nothing delusional about it. The US of A is the greatest accomplishment of human civilization. Wherever you live, you will benefit from the coming Pax Americana -- think of us as your benevolent dictator.
4: ???? 5: PROFIT! Easier to detect now?

No you would not.
Here's a good reference that explains:

Back to our program.
Yet another reason why France is like, well France.
Famous reasons people commit crimes:
- It was easy to do.
- Everyone does it.
- I didn't think I'd get caught.
Still a crime, and don't commit it unless you can do the time or pay the fine. And, at a more fundamental level, it's just not right.
More power to you. Feel free to use the legislative process to change the law. Until then, it is the law and down/uploading is a crime.
And you, my friend, are a petty thief.
Down/uploading copyrighted works is illegal. Those that do it should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Even worse are those that do it in front of their children -- what a great example.
It's their stuff. Period. If they want to charge $100/CD they can. If you think $100/CD is too much, then don't buy it. Just because you disagree with their selling price doesn't justify your theft. They have every right to prosecute you like the shoplifting lowlife that you are.
Why is this so hard to understand?
Wow. That was a quite a stretch to express your bitterness: WiFi protocols to US-bashing. You must really envy US.

O'Keefe's decision was right on.
NASA has determinetd that ISS is a higher priority (as it should be -- there are international committments). There's more risk in servicing the Hubble than not -- and any additional risk makes finishing the ISS less likely.
Risk analysis complete.

$200 for a trip into space! That's a looooong ways off.

There's something north of America? Huh. That's pretty neat. I wish them good luck as they apply for statehood.
Drat. You beat me to it.
Oh great guru of geography, perhaps you should consider Texas.... or Florida.... or....
