Games like Fable 1 and 2 tried to do that. But the NPCs responded or with fear or joy/aplauses. Cant remember another game with this feature, but its a good start.

and i think i can say some facts.
Yes, the ATMs run Windows software without the varrios patches (Most NT4.0 Sp6, but those are being upgraded to 2k), but some machines (30%) also run OS2 (NCR machines) but those are being upgraded to 2Kd too. The older machines (not few) still runs DOS6.22
About the virus/BSOD, i know they are anoyng, but dont represent great security risks. See, the ATM network are proprietary, closed, constantly monitored and dont have access to internet.
IF, the ATM get some virus, the virus cant do much, no virus has WOSA/XFS (CERN-MS ATM API) commands implemented to do something usefull (Money withdraw?).
There are some banks that are migrating to linux, but the lack of standard API (WOSA/FXS-like) are a trouble. And the banks like to have someone to blame in some serious problem (MSFT!)
With this 2600-one-button joystick picture besides the news, its impossible to any Geek that was born before 76 to not think of those games as new home-brew games, for thr Atari2600.
Those guys , or perhaps another group using the
same method, could form a reusable http://www.v2rocket.com/V2-like rocket laucher team to put this sattelite into orbit.
That way, the full process (Sat/Rocket/Orbit) would be complete, not depending of the Russian/others to put it into orbit...
Thats why here in Brazil, our voting day is
always at Sundays.
And weve got 100% eletronic voting.

I second that. i use a OLD version of MANTIS BUG tracker and it does its job!!!! Simple and fuunctional!

its quite amazing that a 7 years old game is found at those competitions.
It shows that not everything is graphics/3D/FPS etc.
