I am sure a little research could turn up some local rare ground based savanger that has become dependent on the occasional bird dropping from sky. Turn off the turbines and there goes the food supply.
Who is looking out for these little guys? Just because they don't have plumage or represent a national entity their interest are being completely being disregared in this affair.
I find that simple example is clean in straight forward in html but significantly more verbose and convoluted in XML/Xforms. I guess I am always suspicious of technology that makes things harder to do simple things.
Actually I get 4 to 5 spam faxes per day but over 2k spam emails per day. Most email spam are filtered but a significant number still make thru and requires > 15 minutes a day slogging thru them because maybe a client/customer is trying to get a message to me. Email is on the cusp of being near useless as a communication method. I am hoping for a significant reduction on Jan 1 but I know my hopes are misplaced.
CWD is prevalent in ranching areas. I theorize that the deer and elk are eating livestock feed on occasion when the opportunity presents itself - a very common occurance.
Keep in mind that chicken and pork feed use ground up animal protein, including brains of down animals. All approved by the USDA. It is just cattle feed that is not supposed to contain animal protein. In fact in the Washington casem, i would bet that the cow in question at one time dined on swine feed.
Large numbers of dear and elk contact the disease simply because they live long enough for the disease to manifest itself (3 - 5 years)
Sorry did not intend to cast all charity fund raising in a bad light. I just despise those that go out of their way to envoke an emotional response.
I remember my parents receiving newsletter from the moral majority. Every article was written to give the impression that unless they received adequate funds "RIGHT NOW" that the cherished american way of life was offer and the (atheists|communists|liberals) would win.
Sage advice. If fact, a lot of "charities" target older people and hire professional "fund raisers" who know what heart strings to pull (often appealing to religion, politics or patriotic ideals or showing pictures of poor miserable starving babies).
"I think the Lord uses people to do his work," Sessions said. "With that money, we'd be comfortable, and we could do some good things."
This statement is another way to pc package the concept of greed. If only God would let me win the loto I promise I will use it to do the Lords work - after of course making myself "comfortable".
Would this not just be the ultimate sweet justice that SCO reveals their own illegal copying of code because they did not know the pedagree of the code.
Linus probably spent the better part of the day responding to this SCO sillyness. What a waste of time. SCO should somehow be made to pay for there frivolous bullshit!
My dear fellow just on the outside chance that SCO or their scum lawyers friends read slashdot do not give them anymore ideas or suggestions on who to sue next. Moderators moderate the above post (er... and mine as well) to/dev/null. thank you.

So where is the famous Boies I ask. Why would you pay 9 Million bucks for lawyer but your brother, who as no experience in IP or Corporate law, is doing all the frontline legal work? Something is fishy here.
I always thought a trival pursuit game based on Linux would be very popular at least within a certain subculture and obviously there is no lack of material.
So instead of questions like:
What year was "Gone with the Wind" released?
You would have
What is the name of the command to see the ports open on a (remote) machine?
and for the 2020 edition you might have questions like
What company folded (whose CEO was ultimately indited) in 2004 after attempting to hijack the Linux IP?
Well I can't speak for a retirement but Perl has put food on my table and provided many enjoyable hours of application development.
Somewhere I came across a quote by Larry to the effect that greatness is measured by the degree of freedom you give to others and not by how much you coerce others into doing what you want. If that is your measure (it has become mine!) Larry you have achieved greatness.
Remember the unidentified "Blam" sort of noise that created such an uproar on the space station a few weeks ago?
Well maybe we already have an X-prize winner and they have not yet claimed the prize.

Furthermore the article states there is still a need for some "clever engineering" concerning the instrumentation.
Sure and "clever engineering" is all thats stands between us and terraforming Venus.
So can I get an "Invention of the year" award for my idea of using one of the moons of Jupiter (i am sure the greenies would whine about using ours) as an extrasolar vehicle/colony so that humans can explore the local region of our galaxy? The propulsion idea still requires some "clever engineering"

The one thing i did not understand about the journey to the center of the earth proposal is how would you attach a sensor package with telemetry to a pile of goo at several thousands of degrees f.
Having dealt with children for sometime, my hunch is that SCO is probably feigning a DDOS attack so that can go back to the judge and ask to extend their 30 day fish-or-cut-bait order.
This is theory is strengthen by their prior actions that indicate their desire to drag this thing out so that the FUD factor stays in effect.
No! I am not punishing anyone. The discount actually comes out of my pocket not the windows user. Look at it this way Open Source developers tend use Mozilla (or other gecko based clients) and linux as a desktop. This is my way or rewarding those folks since I run our store almost exclusively on Open Source software (UPS Worldship and stamps.com requires me to run Windows for some machines:(
I have not had the time to dial in all open source browsers, but will as time permits.
When a store spams you with a "coupon" (a very common practice) does that "punish" all those who do not have the coupon?
I recently modified the shopping cart on my wife's hot sauce store to give a discount if the client is identified as Mozilla or Linux O/S. A friendly feature to encourage the use of alternative browsers (and desktop operating systems). This is the first cart with such a "feature" I know of.
After I finished, it was a _tough_ one night hack, the thought occurred to me that some folks have patented less (ie One click shopping, local weather etc.). It demonstrated to me the need to be change the patents laws to prevent the locking up of obvious or trival application of emerging technology.
I am surpised that the main stream press did not make more of the fact that David Boise et al did not appear in court last week. You would think the law firm would at least have a representive present. Oh I would love to be a fly on wall back at SCO central right now.
If I was a SCO sucker^h^h^h^h^h investor this would be a very troubling sign. In fact, Boise's presence is the only thing that really gave the lawsuit credibility - regardless of the fact that he lost the last two highly publized lawsuits.
The short percentage on this stock is huge and that can help keep the stock price, up strangely enough. As the stock drops people complete the short transaction, which is "buying back" the shares that they sold earlier.

Are these the files that would be impossible to replace? as SCO claims. Ha ha ha.
And then to amplify their pitiful claims they list all variations of the sam file.
Can you imagine paying 9 Mil up front and then you have to get your brother to appear in court for you.

Seems like a rather minor snag.
Doesn't Virginia have long history of lynching?

Hey if they can afford a Hummer then they certainly should not get a discount :)
My overall point is "ya sure it is a gimmick" but some similar gimmicks have been patented and they should not.
