I was a bit harsh in my post. I don't really dislike the ACLU, it just disappoints me off when an organization that supports liberty doesn't always support it. I think every amendment is as important as the others.
That being said, I support them in most every other situation and have donated to them.
"Given the reference to "a well regulated Militia" and "the security of a free State," the ACLU has long taken the position that the Second Amendment protects a collective right rather than an individual right."
Too bad the ACLU refuses to support the 2nd amendment as it pertains to the individual. I refuse to support a organization that selectively supports the constitution.
Sorry, it it's all or nothing.

While I don't know who Will Wright is and I can't be bothered to look it up, I do have to add something.
A game is a toy. A different type of toy, but a toy none-the-less.
Even if they ticket you, you are still not being forced. They don't put you in the police car and take you back home or off to jail. In New Orleans, they won't drag you out of your house and put you on a bus.
Earlier this year I was pulled over during a snowstorm state of emergency just like you stated. Since I work in whats considered a necessary service (medicine) they let me go.
The town closest to me (on the Ohio River) was was nearly wiped out during the '97 flood. The government helped them once to move out of the area. The response for those that decided to rebuild in the flood plain? No flood insurance, no disaster insurance and no help if happens again. Private insurance won't touch it. Good luck.
Don't forcefully stop people from making dumb decisions, but don't subsidize it either.
It's a bit of a misnomer. They can't and don't force you to leave. They sweep the area and strongly suggest you leave, but they won't make you. In Florida at one time they (Charlie) had you list your next of kin so they knew who to contact.
It basically means that if you decide yo stay, you are on your own.
I'll install NoScipt when it gives me a blacklist option. It's just a big pain the in ass to have to whitelist every site you want to let javascript run on.
Sometimes I just want to be entertained without having to hear/see "your statement." I don't always care about what you think, nor do I always want to know.
I think if the person has the knowledge and skill, that they should be able to accumulate wealth. I'm not in the top 2% or top 10%, but I don't believe in punishment for success.
My biggest problem is giving the federal government more revenue. Instead of lowering spending to match current tax revenue, they want to raise taxes to match current spending. Sorry, I simply cannot support bigger government.
No professor demands anything like that, I do that because I need to and because I can hand-draw 10x faster than I could find annotation for reactions on the computer.
No chemist use software when doing quick modeling, none, zero, nada. If you want to make a nice presentable rxn diagram for someone to look at, fire up the software. When you're actually doing work, you're using pencil and paper because it takes just damn long to do it on a computer. A 12-step reaction, line by line, has virtually no text, nothing but directional arrows, charge states, ions and and the like. A tablet-pc would be your only option.
I never used my laptop in any of my chem classes and nor did anyone else. 40-60 students in a class and not a single computer running. I just finished my degree last year, so this data is recent.
That is fine for certain classes. Explain how I can annotate (draw) a Diels Alder cycloaddtion rxn with all the steps with a computer? I guess if you're an IT or business major you could, but this would be useless for about 90% of my chemistry (my major) classes.
No thanks, some classes need a *real* hardcopy, that you can draw in and write on
In my years of college, I have never had a professor that wouldn't let you use an older edition of a textbook. I used an old version if my gen chem and organic classes and just copied the questions at the end of the chapter on a photocopier. The professor(s) knew and recommended it if you couldn't afford the newest.
Don't sell back your books at the buyback, sell them on Amazon. I sold a few mechanical engineering books for more than I bought them for, and they were 3 or 4 years old.

I'll have to take a look again when I run by the bank. The ones they took out are Diebold and I don't think the new ones are..
They are a small local-owned bank so they get used equipment from time to time from other larger banks, so they might actually be used.
There are several embedded systems till using OS/2. One of the biggest is ATM machines, new ones too.
My bank just installed a load of brand new machines, all running OS/2.
Since most websites are free, how else do you expect them to make a profit, or even break even?
i'm still paying taco at least $199 to let me stick it in his ass.
Where is his FOSS spirit?
Do you really think that the difference between 41cm and 50cm, when it comes to satellite imagery, is going to hide that much?

You can stay and they won't force you to leave.
They won't help you either. You're on your own.
I agree.

How in hell was my comment worthy of a troll moderation?
No, you're still thinking like a slashdot reader.
These hypothetical families are not going to be watching these over the net. I don't watch streaming HD and know no one that does.
Thank you! I've been looking for something like since I heard of noscipt!

My comment wasn't in reference to this space invaders game specifically. That I couldn't care less about. It's just a general statement.
Can't agree with you on the nuke statement though.

Promote the general welfare, not provide the general welfare.

A democratic government's duty is to do what the populace demands, nothing more, else it's not democratic.
It's not the governments duty (or right) to force income equality.
