There are several factors that will need to be addressed before flying cars arrive:
Flight takes more energy than ground travel, so given the current and future high energy costs the economics aren't here yet.
Air traffic control is another big issue. There will have to be an intelligent air traffic control network capable of directing such a large number of aircraft safely.
Maintenance. Current aircraft require a huge amount of time being maintained compared to cars. People do a poor job of keeping up with car maintenance as it is.. which is not such a large problem. If the engine quits you pull off the side of the road.
No, until we figure out how to make cars fly on a maintenance free cusion of blue light that uses something other than fossil fuels for power we'll all still be stuck driving around in our Porsches and GMC's.
In Far Cry his 9600SE beats the pants off my FX5200. I used the Toms charts to decide on the 9700 Pro for my upgrade. I agree that for Q3 engine games the FX5200 is faster than the 9600SE.
My friend's Radeon 9600SE smokes my FX5200 in Far Cry. I took a hard look at the performance vs. cost of the various cards and just ordered a Radeon 9700 Pro (OEM) for $153 from targetpcinc.com. Had to use the pricewatch.com "Buy Now" button to get that price. Their website check-out was a little quirky, but I got my order placed eventually (I think). My decision was based mostly on this video card round-up at Tom's Harware:

Keep in mind prices have dropped quite a bit since they posted that review.
Then why do I get a sunburn even on cloudy days?
I can imagine clouds block a certain amout of direct sunlight from reaching the ground which might keep temperatures cooler. Thus the claim of preventing global warming, but what impact does UV have in all this?
I for one welcome our new Robotic overlords, even if they are made from R/C car/airplane servos. Let's just hope they are 3 laws safe, or at least that Will Smith will defend us.
I wonder if they evolved logic to counter the slashdot effect.
1. Scan slashdot.org for new stories every five minute.
2. Scan new story for links.
3. Cash those pages.
So, I'm watching the video of his robosnail and thinking, "that's cool, but it doesn't go very fast." Then I realized it IS a snail after all...
...someone makes a wheelchair powered jet!

...the craft tore itself to pieces during a trial run.
I was under the impression that the Pegasus boost missle went out of control so they self-destructed it...not that there was a problem with the X-43.

That's what I get for posting before caffeine intake...

...how does Mr. T's breath smell?
Does anyone know if this affects smooth muscle too? You may not want, say, your bowel muscles to be twice as strong... GRRRR! PLOP!
