Gnome is great BECAUSE it's simple. The average linux user isn't a moron, so sure, KDE isn't too bad, but if you want to get a wider user base, you'll need to attract some of the not-so-bright users out there. If that's the case, GNOME is perfect. The only GUI I like better is the Mac OSX.
One thing I've noticed is it skips results from time to time... makes it really annoying when you're trying to check your positioning.
For example, I do a search, and on the first page it shows 1-9. On the second, it shows 11-20, on the third it might show 21-27. It is TOTALLY annoying.
As far as I can tell, this ISN'T due to sponsored links.
On the other hand, we use apache, and we're doing well, but that might be an exception.
If you're a linux user, why don't you use WINE? Photoshop 6 (which is pretty nice) runs fine for me using it? It's a bit of a pain to install, since you have to modify your wine registry, and etc etc. I even got fonts and the eye candy filters working.
Alternately, you can go for the pay for play version CrossOver Office
Also, there's rumors of Adobe putting in Linux support for newer versions too
all my Jedi Academy and Knights of the Old Republic time wasting would be worth it...
Seriously though, I was feeling this kind of blur with good ol' Doom. I played it so much that I'd strafe at night when I saw an orange street light in the distance. Damn those Imps and their fireballs
That levy on MP3 players, and CD-R and CD-RW, and DVD-R and DVD-RW was a scam anyways. That money never went to the artists, it went to the labels. Only the money off of actual album sales, radioplay royalties, and touring went to them.
Remember, Canada still has it's CAN-CON laws for the radio. 1/3 of all music played on the radio has to be from a Canadian artist. Even still, in some cases it's caused more harm that good. Making people sick of local talent.
I'm still a big fan. If you looked at my CD collection, it's all Canadian or UK. Maybe I'm just a patriot, but all the mp3s of canadian artists I have I own on CD as well (except for rare deleted stuff)
Have they unlocked the Gnome menu yet? This is the one bone I have to pick with Fedora Core (I've used 1 and 2 and now use 2 exclusively). Mind you I'm not a power user.
I spent a few days playing around with Ubuntu, and you could edit the menu there, but I found it was a bit too lean for my tastes, and I prefer the GUI setup for things like Samba and Apache, that Ubuntu didn't have.
... but if they don't launch in the next 12 days with the same craft, it's not going to count for the prize, just for history.
Personally I think that whole piggy-backing launch technique is kinda sad... Go Canadian Arrow (a nice 2 stage ground launching rocket, testing in August!)
Well, to be honest, most people could care less about enlarging. If they're getting a picture printed, it's going to be a standard 6"x4". Those few that want to enlarge bigger than that are the pros and semi-pros, (which is a pretty low percentage of camera users), and they should get a nice costly camera, or use film.
I for one am happy that the megapixels are going up, but my 3.2 meagpixel camera does a fine job for now.

It was the stylish beard that gave me away? Nah, I'm kidding you're alright...
I'll sit here cowering behind my hardware firewall, and prepare for an invasion...

I wish I could claim it was a subtle joke... sigh... my bad, I'm making a morale check on a d20 as I type...
My THACO isn't low enough to read this article...
The coldest spot on earth was Portage and Main in Winnipeg... hmmm
We'll be more likely to get medical marijuana... at least in Canada...
whoa man, pass those cheese doodles...

Well the copy protection can't be that good. I found a prefectly ripped 192kb/s copy of it on SoulSeek a few nights ago
You mean like executing code in the preview window, and automatically adding people to your address book if you reply to them by default?
