    There you go.

The "EU needs to be dismantled", is a pretty bold claim to just throw out there with no justification.

I do disagree by the way. Each country's representatives are chosen by their elected government. A bit indirect but certainly not completely undemocratic.

I was following you until this last part. Brexit was literally directly voted on by the people of the UK. I think it was a dumb idea to leave but that's very clearly democracy in action

  6. "I mean, no one would dream of spreading misinformation on the Remain side - they're all saints devoted to the purity of Truth."

Why would Russian advocate for Remain? Leave weakens the European Union and the UK, both of which are certainly to Russia's benefit. What does Remain get them?

I don't agree with the parents black and white views on the military but he is definitely using the correct term for the events he lists. Here's the definition of imperialism.

    imperialism /impirlizm/Submit
    noun
a policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
    "the struggle against imperialism"

Everything he lists there easily fits that definition. So maybe "retards" are people who criticize something they don't understand and engage in name calling while they're at it?

You don't have to have an emperor, directly conquer territory, or engage in colony making to act in an imperialist manner.

    Well said.

I'm no militarist or hawk and I certainly don't think for a moment that America's military record is all things pristine and pure but it's incredibly foolish to have such a narrow view of the US military or its needs for modernization as the parent you responded to made.

"But none of that is particularly important, as parents argument is on the allocation of funds from tax collection"

No, the parent, who I even quoted, was clearly suggesting all taxation is evil. You can't say that and then turn around and say its fine in these certain contexts I approve of without being the exact same kind of "evil" you've described or a complete hypocrite. Either taxes are evil or they aren't. Everything else is simply discussing the proper role of government which is a different topic.

  14. Maybe this post could have listed some of his accomplishments in more detail.

No, you're either a hypocrite or are "evil". If it is "evil to take someones money if the government does it" (your words here) then as a centrist you are evil or a hypocrite because you pretty much have to believe in government taxation to be a centrist. Your only way to justify your dumb questioning of taxation in such an absolutist manner is to be an anarchist and good luck with that.

What a dumb analogy. If everyone robs from banks then insurance companies can't afford to insure them and the banks fail.

No one likes taxation, it's just most people have the common sense to know that government is better than anarchy where anyone who can pull enough people together can do whatever the hell they want to you. On top of that, people generally like the services they get in return. Roads, schools, protection, etc.

You on the other hand just seem to want to roll over and be a victim.

Yet again with putting bullshit motives on me. You're unbelievable. If this information is so fucking crucial for you I have zero student debt and never had to accrue any meaningful amounts while getting my degree. I've literally showed you a way to get a degree in a much cheaper fashion than what you're going on about and still you persist with this shit.

  18. And who the fuck is "Robert"? Your naming of names in a first name context makes you sound much more like a lame hipster than an intellectual. It literally diminishes whatever you're trying to accomplish by naming names. If you have to tell some one about your accomplishments they probably aren't as important as you want them to be.

And they certainly aren't so when you're make such absurd and uneducated claims.

  19. And yet you seem to think base and massively incomplete anecdotal evidence is meaningful in a scientific context. Oh wait, a complete education would have taught you how to properly process data. Score one for a proper college education.

I'm sure you got a good education in regards to core skills but your lack of understanding in the processing of societal data is showing.

"One reason a person might take that position would be if they were SELLING $60,000 degrees."

So the person who literally said "Those costs are symptomatic of a fucked up system and not just the way things have to be." is the person selling degrees. Right, you're a fucking genius.

My local JC which is one of the best in the country and is a feeder school to many nearby top universities. It charges next to nothing per unit ( https://accounting.santarosa.e... ) while maintaining an amazing campus with great facilities. Sure, a school that teaches 4 year degrees will need to charge a bit more to pay for upper division level educators but there's no excuse for the truly massive difference in costs between these two layers of education.

"Because being different from the centuries-old educational model is pretty much what the program is all about.
