  1. Not just online on Online Trust Failing Overall · · Score: 2, Interesting

I think society as a whole doesn't trust any companies any more. Everyone is so sick of the Government screwing them over and companies ignoring the laws these Governments got paid (by other companies usually) to put in place. Lets face it, I don't trust anyone I can't blackmail or back stab and get back whatever I've give them. The world has become like that and it's getting worse and worse.

The auto update people arn't the issue here. They will wait and do it whenever, I mean the whole system. Why must I DL the whole thing again just to fix a couple of registry options?

Plus it seems people are having problems with 1.0.1 so I won't be installing it just yet.. but still.

That maybe the biggest problem with firefox right now. We have to reinstall it over and over, which most users arn't willing or knowledgable enough to do (I'm talking the average idiot). We need to fix this and soon, other wise we'll just become "oh yea, they dont mind messing around, I like IE it's easy".

  3. This will get worse on Floaters are the New Pop-Ups · · Score: 2, Insightful

People keep saying "Firefox cures ads! Adblock and such!". Well the more popular firefox gets (I've used it since the Phoniex days and have noticed this as it's got more popular), the more people will try and break it. This is also the downside to being open source, while everyone can view the source code, it also means everyone can see the holes in it.

The more people that use firefox the more things like this will pop up, so we'll end up playing catch up over and over (and lets face it, the release yesterday proved how bad the update system is right now) untill people get sick of it and use a new browser which fixs this.

Now watch the post get 12 million replies saying "Yea like Usenet and Windows! Firefox is going to die hahahaha".

I have to secure a friends PC in a few days, I won't sign them up to this bullshit (OMG NEW VIRUS WE'RE ALL DOOMED list). I'll put on spybot, ad aware, zone alarm and anti-viri and tell them to update it at least once a month. That way theres no panic attacks over bullshit which means I don't have to repeatedly walk down the road, update it and go "there your secure".

The government in this country is such a fucking mess they can't even keep their systems secure, they can't keep the latest (patched) problem out. So who gives a fuck if they cry wolf, the wold is going after all of us but some of us know where the bricks are and don't just go "lookit a wolf".

British comedy has gone down hill and is now all canned laughter and black people with an old man who's horny, a husband whos horny and a wife who is just there to look after the kids.

The current state of TV is trash at very best, comedy hasn't evolved, it's just got dumber to the point where a brick against the head would work just as well.

Young ones, Bottom, Black Adder, Mr Bean and so many others. Maybe not the most witty of comedies but they sure as hell made you laugh, which is what comedy is about. Not having 5 "parody" shows each week all covering the same thing.

The only decent thing we're making right now is comedic-quizshows. Nevermind the Buzzcocks, QI and this sort of thing. Nothing else we make is even worth it since it's watered down American drivel without the fake accents.

I've seen all the Star wars films out so far (Ep 1 and 2 at the cinema) and I have to say we need to rate the prequals on a different scale. Look at them as films and not as a legacy. In short

Ep 1= okay movie, bad star wars film
Ep 2 = okay movie, bad sequal, bad star wars film.

So we all scream "RAPE!" because we're ranking these things about classics, NOTHING will ever be as good as the memories you have of your favourite things, so don't compare them.

I should also mention my parents are into country sports and so I have access to shotguns, rifles and every type of gun powder you can legally own in the UK. Now if I wanted I could probably do a whole lot of damage with access to this stuff. And sure theres days I'd love to do it, when the world just plots against you for a week or so. But I have more sense then to do anything like that.

Rather then blame games people should instead blame the lack of morales and common sense in these kids. I was always taught "if you do something, you pay for it. I'm your mother and I'll always love you and be there for you, but your actions are your own fault" and if it wasn't "serious" I'd still get a slap round the back of the legs. This is what kids need today, give them a back hander and lets see them dos tuff like this, everyones happy to bitch and whine about smacking and how it's child abuse. Well personally I'd much rather see some "minor child abuse" (Which IMO it isn't), then seeing some little fuck up run around shooting people and getting games banned because the judges just arn't informed enough.

I got hooked up to several monitors, dodads and various dials and such. My heart was fine at the time but they still wanted me to goto the hospital. Now we have 3 cars (3 people who can drive in the house so one each) and my mum (I'm 19, so living at home with UK property prices) would of been able to drive me there. For a good few minutes I tried to explain I would rather they went off and sorted out someone in real danger then use their resources to take me to hospital, but they repeatedly said they had to take me if I went because it's unprofessional to just walk away in the "middle" of something. Yet to me this seemed totally and utterly stupid, I felt annoyed at wasting resources when the NHS is currently getting fucked in the eye socket.

So there I'am possiblely dying and I still don't want to waste their time and theres this dickhead who sits and wastes their time over and fucking over.
