  1. Back in my day.. on On The Secret Life Of Videogame Voice Actors · · Score: 1

We didn't have none of these fancy voices, if we wanted to hear a noise we saw the text and read it.

Who can forget such memorable phrases as "Thwack" and "..." in the old SNES RPGs?

I don't know about anyone else but I really like silent voice actors, then I can focus on whats going on rather then going "meh, I can listen as I read slashdot and let this boring FMV pass... oh shit it's already ended" and I'm laying there half dead already.

  2. Spyware on Is Dell Just Testing the Market? · · Score: 1

Forcing anyone to learn anything does more harm then good. Forcing someone to do something is no different then your parents forcing you to live within a restricted world..

So we're what two years away from another FF game, another DDR series with erm.. better graphics?

Nah, I don't think I'll bother with the PS3, it won't be hugely different to the PS2 and well I'd rather support someone like Nintendo who can make a console which doesn't die after a year (I'm sure everyone has seen or heard of a bad PS2 like that).

Sony can make fine TVs, DVDs, VHS and whatever else you wish to name. But the PS systems after the first just need alot of work.. we're on what the 10th model now and they still don't run right...

  6. Okay... so.. on Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne And Tokyo Culture · · Score: 4, Insightful

I've been looking forward to this game since my friend (from Japan) mentioned it. It seems a good game and if theres a good culture refrence behind it all the better... but this article made me think "Come to Japan, we're freaks". It showed all the Japan steriotypes in 5 pages and mentioned the game... was good.. and had toilet enemies? O.o

Wheres the mention of Dante from Devil may cry (A refrence everyone will get) hunting you? The countless angels from the Christian faith you can get to join you?

Wheres the mention of fighting God himself? They skipped the game over and tried to whore Japan to hippies, freaks (no offence) and businessmen... Well done article..

Sorry to sound negative but when I read a game article, I like it to have more then 3 words about the game.

I find it strange that everyone needs all these "amazing new features" etc. etc. but 99% of the time it won't change how the music sounds at all. I don't see the point of buying a new VCR because mine still works, same goes for TV, GBA(not SP) and so on and so forth.

Why waste 300 on some new gadget which will work pretty much identical to the old ones when the global standard isn't changing much (global standard for MP3s will always just be the old MP3 untill replaced for example).

All I hear now is "The internet is dangerous" or "It's all porn" and I'm starting to wish it was because then idiots who come up with stupid ideas to make money (Spammers, pop up users etc.) would fuck off and leave us alone to have our peaceful society of nerds, cross dressing men and crappy sprite comic arists.
