"Worker ants are female because they are genetically female (with different details, but along the lines of human with two X-chromosomes per cell being female, vs those with an X and a Y being male). Worker ants also have at least vestigial ovaries and stings, which are female reproductive and modified egg-laying organs, respectively.
Also, not all worker ants are non-reproductive. Many can lay eggs that give rise to males, most often when they are away from the influence of the queen. In some ant species, the workers and queens are not, or barely, morphologically distinguishable. Finally, in a small number of ant species that do have distinct queen and worker body types, there is evidence that workers can lay eggs that give rise to other workers..."
I wished the newer TiVo models didn't have required subscription. I would totally buy one. No, I am not building my own DVR since buuilding one is a lot of work and I don't trust PCs.
Also, older people with DVRs skip because they're more busy with jobs, family, etc.
In that Wired blog, Loretta has typos/grammar errors like "I highly recommend watching it (I think its the soundtrack that does it) and can't wait to see it larger then a tiny window in my web browser." It should be "it's" (not its) and "than" (not then).
Doesn't Wired have copy editors to check these typos/grammar errors?:)
Neatorama shares Office Snapshots Web site that has a collection of interior office photographs of various popular/well known companies. It is generally from Web/Tech companies.
Or do this clever four minutes YouTube music video, from The Get Out Clause, an unsigned Manchester band who could not afford a camera crew for their video. Its members performed in front of a load of closed circuit television/CCTV cameras, requested the footages from the camera operators under the Data Protection Act, and stitched the results together for their music video.
Also, this is another why you shouldn't upgrade right away, especially major upgrades. SP3 is not urgent. I am just going to wait until MS or something else forces me to upgrade to it. I am fine with SP2 and MS is still supporting it for a while (no idea when it ends).
Isn't that pointless? Do we even know how old these datas are (didn't see any dates with a quick glance)? I am sure they change. It would be nice if we could get up to date ones often.
Digg shares several amusing doctored screen shots of RapidShare's CAPTCHAs that might be shown in the future.
Maybe the alarm was warm and provided heat? Was it cold in the room and ants wanted a place to warm from the rain.
The Trailer Mash has a collection of these.

You are so wrong. All worker ants are females. You are correct that they can't reproduce.

Too bad companies still send DMCA. And yes, I had one a few years ago. :(
What were we looking for with the goldfish? All I saw was water splashing during the quake. :(
Does this mean we will have a bigger conflict coming like a war? :(
Are there any wireless Internet Service Providers/WISP in that area?
Yeah. Linux drivers are decent. Better than ATI/AMD!

Does anyone have a WAV file of that audio clip? I uploaded a whole collection of mine (LCARS) related to exit, shutdown, etc. ;)
I hope the self-destruction doesn't malfunction/activate by itself! That's scary.
So are Quadro drivers way more stable than the GeForce ones? NVIDIA's drivers suck these days. They're not good as 8x.xx ones IMO.
How about properties like homes?

sakdoctor: Why don't you get us (males) attractive females who can reproduce, so we can increase that number. ;) I didn't think so! [grin]
Bcastner's Broadband/DSL Reports forum thread shares Jane Maliouta's IEBlog about Microsoft Windows XP SP3 and how it'll work with the various released versions of Internet Explorer (v6.0 to 8.0 beta 1).

Didn't id Software do that for Quake 1 test/demo or something? I thinkit went from MacOS, Linux, and then Windows.
