Actually, one of the coolest things about Arcades (those are the old places your parents told you about before computers and xboxes) was the social interaction. I can't say I miss the smoke filled rooms, but going shoulder to shoulder with your friends or even complete strangers while working torwards the next level or knocking each other out simply is on another level entirely.
The social interaction can be more meaningful or elaborate online, but it's a lot less personal than letting that bitch standing beside you who put a quarter against you that he just got pwned. Ditto for finally beating the dragon on the last level with your buddies.
...is anything directly in conflict with the political agenda of the people in power. Courts may rule against such a broad definition, but they may not as things are...
"Library officials say the added security is necessary to ensure people who are using the computers are who they say they are."
I fail to see why this is such a big deal. If I give my library card to my daughter to research a report, or to a buddy, so what? Most libraries already have **SOME** security systems in place and filtering so people can't just hop on those computers and start cyber-terrorizing others or worse. Sure, the dedicated can get past that, but they'll always find a way.
"Right now we give you a library card with a bar code attached to it. This is just a bar code, but it's built in," West said.
Wouldn't it be easier to just tattoo the bar codes on our arms? I seem to remember that being done at one point, but how did that work out...
Definately wrong to say "What's a few minutes going to do". In an emergency, there's no time to think and 911 is already in everyone's heads. Sure, if she got someone it wouldn't get the baby to the hospital any faster, but maybe the operator on the other end would calm the caller down enough to have them perform CPR while an ambulance is dispatched.
It makes sense for the contracts and installation of VoIP to be set up to auto-generate your location information and give you 911 unless you move a phone to another connection without changing your service area / informing the VoIP provider. GPS, as much as the tin foil hats will argue privacy violations (and be moderately correct), would be a GREAT idea for phones which are meant to be semi-mobile. But then again, can't someone with the proper equipment triangulate your position with a cell phone anyway?
Once he fires GTA3 on there, he'll be able to pull up next to virtual hookers and have some virtual good times... and then probably run 'em over from not being satisfied.
Nope. As it was the original VHS, the re-release of the Special Edition on VHS, and the re-re-release for the current DVDs, that would make the next one the re-re-re-release.
Either they'll retire, step down, be ousted by some power play, or flat out die at some point. No signifigantly large company will remain a force against evil for all time.
movement towards services and away from manufacturing is exactly the sign of a maturing economy
Is it a maturing economy if it's moving away from manufacturing and services?
With adware popping up sites for illegal Porn and Pharmacies, this makes everyone's traffic suspect.
Or maybe all the adware is part of the Man's Plan for arresting everyone in the US and ultimately the world who can't afford to buy their own justice and government.
And it's such a simple concept too. SOE has charged how much for the retail boxes + expansions, and they still charge monthly fees?
NWN and GWs have one fee, easy enough to swallow (OK, + Exp packs but they're one time as well). I can see that and would (have) bought into that.
As for $50 for the box, $30 per expansion, and $15 a month? Pfft, forget it!

So if the cats were a bit smaller, say 15-25lbs, then you would think of eating one?

Damn straight!!! I't's cheaper to order 911 services after I've already been mugged / injured / killed / etc.

The irony is that it IS CONSTITUTIONAL (the specific reference is mentioned in TFA), but it certainly goes against the spirit of the consitution.

How can you say this was biased? The fact that Sun says Solaris "beats it hands down on functionality and everything else"?
Nope no bias here... Move along people...
