I said "left wing liberal elitist", not just liberal. Being liberal in and of itself is not bad. It's when you go to the extreme left that issues, such as 2nd amendment rights, arise. There is a distinction you know. Just like there are right wing kooks, which are nut jobs also. Extremes on both sides are generally bad. No where did I say "all liberals are left wing loons". The only people I lumped into a group was the "left wing liberal elitist".

Those stories are indeed troubling. They (left wing democratic liberal elitists) most certainly believe that the 2nd amendment applies to no one (save perhaps police as they also wish to do away with the military). They believe that no one has the right to own a firearm. This was made clear during an interview with John Edwards were he stated that owning a gun was a privilege and not a right. Typical template among elitist left wingers. Since most of the efforts to try and ban owning a firearm have been defended thanks to the efforts of the NRA, these ilk are now doing all that they can to secure the elimination of available ammunition. Please see Chuck Schumer for his attempt to get OSHA rules changed so that primer and powder would be controlled substances and not be allowed to be stored within a certain distance of a business. Because, we all know that anytime primer and propellant come anywhere near each other, there is a spontaneous explosion...right? Happens every time I hand load. Anyway, mod me over-rated...

I don't get your point. Are you trying to say that because some people are criminals that we should do away with the second amendment? Because that's really worked out quite well for the armed robbers in Australia since they banned law abiding citizens from owning weapons; armed robberies are up 44%. In Victoria, gun homicides are up 300%! Source: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=15304. Banning guns only disarms the law abiding citizens, the criminals don't care about one more law, never have, never will.

Now, if you are somehow saying that I would think that the Black Panthers should have not been allowed to have guns when they were trying to defend themselves against abusive cops, it all boils down to who was breaking the law. The cops were certainly out of line, but I am not convinced the use of deadly force was the correct response there. The time and place to use deadly force is narrowly defined, read "In the Gravest Extreme" for more information. Now, mark me as over-rated and flame bait.

Out of about 50 macs, only like 5 were OS X the rest were OS 9. The local "mac experts" response to anything was "run Norton's on it" referring to using Norton Utilities. *shudder* We finally got a true mac person on board and we started getting things fixed. Now they are all OS X and the important systems are nice Intel MacPro's. Out of all the old systems, only 3 were capable of upgrading to Leopard. We kept the Ruby iMacs for a classroom, and they take around 2 minutes to boot. I feel your pain.

Several users were complaining of being stuck at the BDOS during boot, slow booting, etc. It seems that there are quite a few issues with 10.5.2, I myself have noticed apps starting much slower since the update. However, for the most part, it's very usable for me. Others however cannot even run some critical apps and has brought them to a complete halt. Not good at all. From what I have read and the trouble I had with using the Software Update version of the update, they needed to test more. I had to use the combo updater just to get the thing to install at all. The 777 is fly by wire. The commands are sent from the throttle levers in the cockpit, to the computer, the computer sends the commands to the engines. This is not the first example I am aware of were software caused an incident. About 2 years ago a Challenger Jet was about to rotate on takeoff at our local airport, and the computer refused to allow the aircraft to rotate. The pilots immediately aborted, but they still ran off the runway by about 20 feet. No injuries, no fire, just damage to the aircraft. This was not the first case of this model having this issue. Again, it was fly by wire that was at the heart of the issue. I think we will find that there was a coding error that caused the engines not to respond to controls with this one.
