This might have nothing to do with the delay but there has been some pressure on NASA from the Canadian government to change the launch direction (I know... not easy) due to concerns of debris hitting the Hibernia oil platform. They predicted debris landing around 25 miles from the platform. Since this is a non-movable platform it caused some understandable nervousness.
While I trust NASA's numbers, I can still understand the concern.
Ok, I see your point there... *IF* the programming was changed mid-game.
However, if I say "here's a chess computer, try and beat it" Then you lose, you can't say, "hey you changed the programing before we started". Even if it's changed between games in a series, I still don't think it's cheating. The human is allowed to adjust, why not the computer.
(Granted, it's a human adjusting the computer, so the answer may not be as clear cut)
"IIRC they accused IBM of modifying Deep Blue's programming between matches."
Hmm... not sure how that's cheating! Can't I change my game plan after the 1st match? Which rule of Chess does this break?
>> We did not evolve with a microwave transmitters straped to our heads so guess what? Its bad for you
Wow... now that's good logic!! We didn't evolve with marshmellows strapped to our nipples either... is that bad for us too Charles?
While I agree, there might be some less than beneficial effects to extended mobile phone use, why don't we stick to logical arguments and scientific methods.
The only people who like to see those (IMO) annoying things like extra search bars or the funny little desktop buddies are the people that don't realize the side effects.
They're the same poeople who come looking for answers when their computer starts taking 10 min to boot up or when performance grinds to a halt because the system uses 400M of memory in an "idle" state.
Nice job Daz, but I'm still not convinced! Most of your arguements still rely on the Gospels, and I have a hard time giving credit to any argument based a piece of work which may or may not have changed numerous times throughout history depending on who was reproducing it.
(I have to admit, I have only just started reading the Bible, so my knowledge on that side of the debate is still weak)
I will however go and buy Case for Christ. Sounds like an interesting read. You might find "God and the New Physics" by Paul Davies interesting. He talks from the other side of the table on this debate.
"There's a lot more physical, scientific, logical, and forensic evidence to support that Jesus rose from the dead then there is to support that macro evolution has occured even once."
Are you serious.... physical, scientific and logical, evidence that a man rose from the dead, how many years ago! I'm going to resist the temptation to to dispute that claim outright and ask you to put your money where your mouth is. Show me!
As for your claim that most scientists reject the possibility of religion outright, that may be true, but only because science is based on following logical progressions from one proven step to the next until an answer is reached. Not faith that some previously accepted notion (read: religion)is true. If it's true, let science proove it. You NEVER start a proof by assuming what you're trying to prove is true.... makes no sense.
Science only tries to move the ball forward one yard at a time, and whenever it seems to be at a stand still, in step the religous folk and say "see... after this it must be God". Sorry... that's not proof! If you don't need proof fine, but I do. I have never accepted anything on blind faith in my life and never will.
Why use these types of email services? Other than for a generic email address to use in those stupid web forms I use the mail service provided by my ISP. Assuming you all have access at home (maybe not all but most) than you have an ISP. Then you can choose the mail reader you want, with the features you want...
I have hotmail and yahoo, I go there about once a month to clean out the trash.
You know what else would be usefull... strap a piece of plywood to the golies back, or just give hime a shot gun!
Whatever happened to plain old talent? If he's not good enough without optical illusions on his arms, he shouldn't be playing.

A short list of programs with known functionality loss or who cease to work after SP2...
- Norton antivirus
- Norton systemworks
- McAfee
- BlackICE
- Zonealarm
Hmm... *increased* security eh! Maybe if you know how to fix those problems... but for Joe User.... ?
