The author is saying that without the pioneers of the science CS wouldn't be intertwined with mathematics. So yeah, it is fundamental now, but in the absence of the original contributors it may have looked quite different.
I personally find the argument a bit difficult to swallow, but then again, I'm inside the box.
It seems that Google Gears can be used for more than offline applications. It includes tools for running JavaScript in background threads to prevent UI blocking, as well as a SQLLite database for storage and fast retrieval of any data you want, whether you're working offline or not.
There isn't too much difference between MXML (Flex's UI layout) and XAML (Microsoft's UI layout). And.NET can integrate with Flash just fine, using Flash remoting or SOAP.
I'm not so sure about that. My Macbook's hard drive just went. Before that, the battery.

Obviously not a tech-oriented guy. The Dino Book was the only textbook I've enjoyed reading in University. It's a collection of great ideas, page after page. Nothing boring about that. Operating systems are the culmination of architectural ingenuity (at least as far as software goes).
It's actually based on an abandoned draft that no one could agree on but Adobe adopted before any decision was made. Mozilla was interested. Microsoft not so much.
Just wanted to let you know that I love your name. In fact, I've used it myself on occasion. I consider you a kindred spirit, and you have been added to my friends list.

I'm reasonably sure he was joking.
Hey Dog-Cow,
Just wanted to let you know that I love your name. In fact, I've used it myself on occasion. I consider you a kindred spirit, and you have been added to my friends list.
"bags"?
You could just buy a tuner. You'd develop the ear over time.
What's up with all the flashing words? "Enjoy" "Sharing is a service" (or something...) That's all I caught, but I stopped watching. Why do this?
Everytime I read this word I feel pissed off. I can't explain it...except for saying that it just seems so stupid.
I think the issue with landmines is that they're left behind long after the conflict has ended. Anyone can step on these things after the fact.
Withstand? I think you mean stand.
Withstand would mean she couldn't resist it.
Interesting...
How is this a troll? It's sweet!
That's just what I was thinking. You beat me to it!
If only Officer Gold could see me now.
You're commenting on grammar and spelling yet you use the word "hurted" (not a word) in the same sentence as the critique.
:)
I guess it's been awhile since my math proofs course.
haha. I meant where q != 1 and p and q are in their lowest forms
