I used to use gaim for the longest time, but often times found it frusterating.
When I first got it, I tried for about 2 hours, with no evial, to change how the text appeard on my end. Not to mention that it is hard to find everything, and I think the connection manager is lacking several important featres.
I've been using Trillian Pro for a few months, and Pro 3 since the alpha version was released, and I absolutly love it. The tabs are much better than GAIM's, and I can have multipul tabs, for my friends, family, IRC, or just one huge one if thats what I want.
The one thing that trillian totaly owns gaim in, is it's plugins. They are so awesome, and offered free by Trillian. The spellchecker is something i've needed for so long (as i'm sure you can tell).:-P
Anyways, before you go and bash Trillian because it costs money, look at all the features you are getting.
Bad idea for stupid parents who are going to be outwitted by their kids just turning off the phones?
See, this would work, but what teen is going to turn off their phone? I mean, i'm 16 and I have it 24 hours a day. Teens aren't going to turn off their phones just to outwit their parents. They are in a car driving somewhere, most likely with their friends, obviously they will have it on.
It was only a matter of time until a major vuneribility was found in SP2. I'm sure there will be others, but at least they are being found before they are taken advantage of.
I would think they would be getting rid of dial up connections, not the broadband. More and more people are getting away from 56k, why are they removing services that the consumers are demanding? It doesn't make any sense!
Now that Winamp 5 will only have minor updates, what other MP3 players out there have the same functionality as winamp, and perhaps some new functions?
I've seen their cralwer (their new one I presume) around for at least a month, without any indication on where the results were being shown. At least I have another spider to add to my list of robots that steal my bandwidth.
I used to share and download files from IRC, with the thinking "They will shut down the IRC server before they shut me down". 3 weeks later, my internet goes out. After hours on the phone with my ISP, we found out the MPAA requested a shut off of my service.
Don't be fooled, they do go after the little fish.
Because of the main stream-ness of BT these days, it won't be long until it will be essentially shut down. It is too easy to obtain the IP address of those transfering and downloading, that the MPAA and RIAA will have a field day. More people will be sued than ever before.
Sad day for file sharing.
When my father installed SP2 at work (even though I told him not to) His whole system crashed, and had to get an entriely new harddrive, and he had to BUY windows XP again, they wouldn't refund him!
Since installing firefox, 0 spyware, 0 adware, 0 viruses, 100% satisfaction.
I belive that the true hard core halo fans won't care. I certainly know that all my friends care about is the multiplayer. I have never touched single player, or co-op play.
It's not really the game makers fault, and Australia isn't at fault for having it like that.
It's just different countries have stricter control on different things, it's just a way of life. These things happen all the time, but it takes a video game of this magnitude for it to get any kind of attention.
No, it cannot be done at todays day in age, unless you want a really bad computer.
I mean, what do you want to do with the computer, just be able to turn it on? Cause thats all you will be able to do with 100 dollars. Even for word processing, you will need a decent size ram, hard drive, motherboard, ethernet port, case. That alone is already at 200 dollars.

What is the meaning of life?
I thought the military released this technology months ago. Is this an improvement on the tech, or just a dupe story?

Twice in one day? Same type of dupe, gotta check that page...

With all the sucess of Winamp 5, I am very supprised at this sudden closure. Tis a sad day indeed. DAMN YOU AOL!!!!
They don't. They are a non-profit organization. They do it for the love of their company.

You are reading it incorrectly, the status bar says the true url. I'm running RC1 with no problems.
Not sure, but Microsoft's security manager uses it! http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/08/30/183 5212&tid=201&tid=172&tid=218

Firefox 1.0 RC1 isn't crashing for me when clicking the link.
FF, reformating the world, one windows box at a time.
Isn't it apparent to the IE users out there, you need to get away from IE, a new exploit is found every week!
Although this is funny, it might not be far from the truth.
Well, that was pleasent.
