He shouldn't have gotten a plasma in the first place, or spent a lot more on it.
Also, as has been stated before this switch over isn't for the companies to start broadcasting in HDTV, it is for them to switch to digital brodcast. HDTV uses digital, but you can also use it to broadcast plain old 480i as well. You don't have to have an HDTV for this switch over, just one that will take a digital signal.
Fair enough. The most common solution I saw to that was in some classes where we had MC tests we were required to hand in our scratch work as well. This way the teacher actually go to see our thought processes. I think that this process is what let him make such hard tests in the first place. He had a good record of the most common mistakes and worked out the answers based off those mistakes.
I didn't have problems with Heart of Darkness, I just didn't like Conrad's writting style. Obviously you've never had to read "Wise Blood" or you'd know that the author of that was O'Connor.
My point is why force everyone to read these "classics" that have no value? The only thing that HD made me think was Conrad couldn't write (now I'm willing to give him a break since English was his 6th language, I think). If you want to get kids to think give them something by Aristophanes or Hume, something that was designed with that in mind.
You obviously are not familar with all of Europe. Germany for instance has Gymnasium which goes until grade 13. This is only for kids who are going to attempt to go to a univerisity. They also have two other "high schools" one of which is a trade school and I was never really certain what happened in the middle one.
A properly done multiple choice test is harder than any other format. What you should be saying is ditch the stupid multiple choice tests. A correctly done one makes sure you really know what the hell it is your doing.
Because having "Wide Blood" or "Heart of Darkness" inflicted on me in high school taught me what excatly (besides a deep and burning hatred for Flannery O' Conner)?
One guy I know used to have his players roll random d12s, just to screw with them. They could never figure out what he was doing as this was second edition and only using a bastard sword double handed required a d12.
Tell me about it. I used to play once a week. Then I moved. Luckily I moved to a city with a built in friend base who were also gamers. Unfortunatly most of us have wildly varying schedules (3 professionals, 1 bouncer, 1 student, 1 person who teaches at Kaplan) so actually being able to game is impossible. I haven't gamed in a year.:-( Excepting of course Dragon Con.
Some of us have to run under admin to do our jobs. Of course, I don't use IE for anything except initial testing of the sites I build (yes I test them in Firefox and Opera as well), so I don't have a spyware problem. Just don't be stupid about your web browsing and you won't have a problem no matter what permission level you run under.
Well considering he said "networks he manages" I doubt that replacing windows is an option. You've never really had fun until you've tried to explain to a CIO or equivelant that some of the software (especially the OS) that they are using in a company with 20,000 computers causes all kinds of problems. You generally get a blank stare back and a comment like "But it is Windows, which is secure, right?". Love clueless upper management.
Well, let's see. It is a 2 port gigabit router, can play your DVD's and Blu-ray ones as well. Also has built in wireless. Need any more bells and whistles?
Do what my roomies and I did, everyone chip in and buy one together. We did it for the PS1, true, but it was still a good idea. Only problem is you have to live with the same roomies for a couple of years.
If you had bothered to RTFA you would see some of the examples. Witholding promised rebates is and then delaying the shipment of chips until the agreed to give up on AMD products sounds pretty underhanded to me. If the only thing AMD was complaining about was that Intel was giving discounts to customers who used ONLY Intel there wouldn't be a problem, but that is not what they are saying. READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE!
HDTV does not have to be digital,
Actually HDTV does have to be digital. You can google it or just go to HowStuffWorks.com.
I believe some stations are broadcasting analog HDTV right nowYes, they are, but they are broadcasting with a different (digital) antenna.

Not really the place for this, but how is XP 64 bit working out for you? I've been thinking about getting it but haven't talked to anyone that has it.

I was going to suggest to give them the cheerleaders and save some money, then I read your comment. :-D

We did sentence diagramming in the 5th grade, and I'm way under 50. Actually I'm about the same age as you. I hated doing that crap.

Roll to see if I'm getting drunk!!
Hey, some of us like the latex bsd deamon suit.
wait, did I say that out loud? Damn.

Instead, all NAFTA did was take jobs that paid $25 an hour and move them to a place where the same job pays $1.50 an hour.
Well if the unions hadn't demanded insane slaraies for no/low skill jobs then maybe it wouldn't have been cost effective to move.
Ok Mad Eye Moody Sorry man, had to do it, even though I agree with you completely.

If they take an HDMI or DVI input then they will take 1080p.
Weren't they planning on launching in spring of '06? Which means they have less than a year to get that deadline.

Thank you for pointing that out. NOT A SINGLE DAMN BROWSER WORKS THE SAME! So MS is not the only one to blame here.
Then I hope one of your big competitors does the same thing to you. Screws you over nice and hard. Because after all, there is nothing wrong with it.
