  1. My 2 Cents on Hackers, Spelling, and Grammar? · · Score: 0, Troll

Hmmmm... Let me tell you my experience with this.. I'm one of these "Hackers" not sure exactly what you mean by the term, but for this note I will define it:

"A person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in particular. The term is often misused in a pejorative context, where cracker would be the correct term."

I dropped out of H.S at the age of 16 years old.. it was boring, I certainly hated English and history but was taking advanced Calculus and advanced chemistry by the age of 15..

Got a score on my ACTs of 35 while high on you know what..

I could memorize the spelling of just about any word for spelling tests and then would forget them about 10 minutes after the test was over..

After leaving H.S I was a "flunky" for a while then got into the computer field and was making over 80K year by the age of 22.. with NO degree (certified by M.S, RH, Cisco, Sun) and barley a G.E.D..

I have always been plagued by that person who corrects my spelling all the time, but looking back, this person was always some ugly nerd girl who no one liked but had to correct my spelling all the time, guess it made her feel better to correct me (because yes I was kool.. what ever that is..), then when I got into corp America there was always this person who made far less then me in some project management job who corrected my spelling.. their expertise or skills didn't compare to mine except for their knowledge of M.S project.. and I'm sure they didn't like it when I told them that they didn't manage the direction of the project I did as the system architect.. these people always seem to be about 40 years old.. and hated the fact that I made double their salary at 22..

Am I a cocky little s*i*, yes.. so please if you feel the need to correct my spelling to make your self feel better go right ahead!! My suggestion to the "spelling police" would be to spend your time doing something more productive then worrying about how people spell... No one cares but you, and no one ever will...

I think if you put the cover of the USB drive over the hard drive and painted over the cover, something which matched the painting instead of this UGLY eye sore.. it might be kool..

    Just my 2 cents...

Just think about the situation someone of these kids will be in when they are adults and have to disclose they are registered sex offenders, "Boss, really I was 15 having sex with another 15 year old...", "Sorry you peice of shit sex offender, your fired (nor not hired)"

I have to agree with the paret about sex offenders living in the slums of soceity (after conviction) and are really at higher risk then before... the legal system just puts everyone into a box.. weahter you are a rage filled rapist or had sex with a 15 year old while you where 15..

Legal definition: THEFT - This word is sometimes used as synonymous with larceny, but it is not so technical.

LARCENY - Illegal taking and carrying away of personal property belonging to another with the purpose of depriving the owner of its possession.

This doesn't look like it fits this description since you are NOT depriving the owner of it's posession.

    2nd definition:

Another term for theft. Although the definition of this term differs from state to state, it typically means taking property belonging to another with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property. If the taking is non forceful, it is larceny; if it is accompanied by force or fear directed against a person, it is robbery, a much more serious offense.

It always amazes me how the EASY answer is JAIL, jail is not a deterant, never has been and never will be, people always think "they won't catch me", or "I can get away with it this time", etc...etc...etc..

That all depends on the state in question, in some states an undercover cop is REQUIRED to tell you they are undercover if you ask, so maybe there is a technological way around this.

Plus I don't think that is a fair comparison, since the "dope laws" don't say to be considered a drug dealer you have to get caught dealing dope, in some states for you to be charged with distribution all you have to be caught with is some "dope" seperated in different baggies (common people don't you all watch COPS?).

If you have an oz of coke for instance in one baggie they can't charge you with distribution (unless of couse they catch you dealing), but if they catch you with an oz of coke in 3-4 different baggies then you can be charged with distribution even if they don't catch you dealing dope.
