I am happy Netscape is gone. For one, folks will survive the adware that was always included.

The other reason is that for government sites that used to only post support for Internet Explorer and Netscape like this one: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/formspubs/help/adobenotice-e.html, I can see them mentioning Firefox, which will be good for Firefox. Do you see in the text that mentions Netscape, denying Firefox its rightful place?

It's good this software patent regime might be re-visited, but what is unfortunate is that we as USA, are again simply following Europe on this issue. They have beaten us on all issues concerning the common man and IT by being more pragmatic. I hope this will change with a new administration next year.

I will agree with you on every point you raised. I had not considered those facts. I would like to inform you that I was once a day trader dealing with currencies and a 20% return per month is pretty possible. But I must also mention that success in the stock market or even forex market is tough. I made money (lots of it) in a day.

I once remember making over USD 6,000 in a single day...that was when our trade deficit numbers were read and the market went wild. But I was also burnt several times to the point that I asked myself what I was doing.

I know from statistics that success in this field is less than 5%. That is dismal. I thought of buying some stock predicting software but the cost is just too much, over US$3,000. What is your formula for success in this business? Do these softwares work? I'd like to know. Thanks.

Indeed, Android is a platform. Just googled it up and came up with this link: http://code.google.com/android/. It says in part...

"The Open Handset Alliance, a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies, is developing Android: the first complete, open, and free mobile platform."

But the title suggests that there is an Android phone which will be killed! Android is a platform just like Linux, and Alienware's device will be based on the Android platform. so to me, this development will perpetuate Android instead of killing it.

It's like saying..."Bogaboga Systems is gonna come up with a Linux killer which will be based on Linux!" This does not make much sense to me.

Russia today couldn't even compete militarily with USA from the 80's.

I'd say that this is a figment or your imagination and that's why America will always be surprised. Do you know that when Russia talks in military terms, America listens...and listens very very carefully?

Russians do not trumpet their technological achievements like we Americans. If they were the ones relying on our rockets for the ISS (like it's gonna be soon, but in reverse), we'd be blowing our own trumpets. I'm sure you know what I mean.

There are greater threats to USA's security than these mach 6 planes will address. Things like terror are far worse. Imagine six 9-11's on our [critical] infrastructure.

These plans also assume that Russia and China are sitting idle. Once again, we shall be surprised just like we were when Russia put into service, a nuclear capable missile with independent, multiple war-heads. This made our missile shield obsolete.

This confirms to me that my president and his administration are just incompetent.
