    True enough, but such things cost money. Something 'simple' like Truecrypt isn't a perfect fit but you can deploy it (at risk, as you state) without having to fork over cash.

    I only state this because we should all be aware of the budget nightmare NASA has been living lately.

    Fine. What about when you do all that in the sim instead of letting it float you down to the runway all on it's own?

    I landed without ATC contact, a significant crosswind, only one engine, and half my instruments out. Oh, and it was raining. (yes, and i was NOT aligned to the runway, as I had been up in the air and diverted for the landing)

    Sure, it's different than doing it in the real thing, but not different enough to discount the sim experience.

    That's great and all, but when saying "wait, what?" is construed as "resiting arrest" we have a problem.

    I like cops, in general. They fill a very important role and the ones I've delt with have been pleasant enough. It's the assholes who abuse the system that are the problem.

    Probably lept from 'felony' right up to what a federal court would impose, not realizing the state would handle it in all but those corner cases.

    I'm pretty sure we have a timeout. I know I've hit my own trying to think something out. Just... nothing for a few seconds, then BANG! Frustration and a nudge into thinking how much the problem sucks instead of working the problem, or just outright derailment from the problem at hand ("oh look at the shiny")

    You don't know the gunshot killed him until the coroner does his thing. He could have already been dead. Hell he might have been dead from natural causes, and the gunshot was just desecration of a corpse.

    There's a big difference between first degree murder and mutilating a corpse. They have to be sure. It's their job to be sure.
