    The net installer keeps breaking when they play with the repo signing keys. Don't use a net installer for testing. Try this RC instead.

    That's why setagllib recommends firing up a VM.

    QEMU is a good place to start.

    If this is new to you, this is a good place to start reading.

    Yes, but who would print something like that at 200dpi? You want at least 600dpi.

    So, at 600dpi, about 4 feet by 1.3 feet. Still pretty damn big.

    I don't think digital will ever "surpass" film, as with any analog->digital transformation you loose data. Not that it will practically matter soon.

    Now that's an interesting idea... I think I might need to try that out with something simple (say, minesweeper)

    Since you are decompiling, you could theoretically decompile to any language of your choosing, correct? I understand the output is ugly either way.

    Would it be as simple as sticking an include for winelib and then dealing with super-secret-api stuff on a per-case basis? Or would this be more involved?

    After a release, Debian does not alter packages with the exception of security updates. It's an intended policy. If you want something fresher, go elsewhere or use Sid. Note however, that Debian Stable is likely to be very secure, comparatively.

    I think a better solution: Receivers in cars that can be triggered by emergency vehicles. Light starts pulsing when nearby, to clue the driver into looking around or turning their music down to hear.

    Sure, it would be spoofable, but since all it does is light up a caution light... what's the real harm? I would say the gains would be worth it.
