I want Sony to take their damn time and make PS3 absolutely rock-solid and expandable without any bugs. I don't care if I have to wait an extra year, I don't feel like plopping down another $300 because Xbox, Nintendo, and PS are getting into a pissing contest of "who can beat the other guy to market."
The thing is that the most money for the gov't does not come from the sales tax on the software, but the income and business taxes on what is done with that software. If any government is relying on a sales tax on a box of MS shit for their their survival, they don't understand the economy. Business use software to DO things that bring in profit for them.
There is a 2 KB patch available on Mozilla Update. Look for the ShellBlock extension.
And this is beta software. It's supposed to be buggy. The fact that IE is in it's 6.x series and still an open porthole to the world while today MozOrg fixed this issue in one day should say enough.
If you think there are any browsers out there that are totally secure, you're bleeding insane.
Is healthcare really that expensive these days? A good chunk of that has to be salary (if they want top people) but what the hell could the rest be going to?
Somebody here run their own business and have some insight into this? I'm totally dumbfounded on why it should be that expensive.
Either they are very open-minded or this particular writer will not be invited back....
Slate has no problem making a mockery of George W. Bush and even John Ashcroft, both of which Microsoft desperately needs in office in order to continue it's "resolution" of their anti-trust cases.
I guess the people in Redmond just don't read Slate or something.
"Interesting" is not really enough for all the big investors out there (especially Congress). They need something they can rape, divide, and conquer, then you will see a huge increase in space funding.
I'm not going to get into all this camera phone business, but I once saw one of those "smart" living room setups where you basically have a PDA to control everything. I can't imagine sitting there fumbling with a stylus to change the channel. If I can't operate it when I'm drunk/tired/etc. it's not simple enough!
Remember, these are Americans you are designing for!
'We are facing a critical situation, in which the number of game players will decrease unless we change tack', Iwata said.
Hmmmm.. I can understand that the variety of games will decrease over time unless there is some kind of major structural breakthrough, but I don't really see the number of gamers going down IMHO. At some point there will be a huge business interest in pushing the boundaries which will lead to more investment. Hell, there are still addicts to this day playing Doom and all kinds of classics.
Even though in the future there may be fewer original games to choose from, I will still have no life and will still be playing games.
I know it sounds silly, but you should ask the people you are donating to what specifically they need. It is much better for them if they get something they don't need to make any modifications to whatsoever. They will have some experience in the field and will have dealt with many people like you. Maybe they are more concerned about the shape of the hardware (perhaps they will format it as soon as they get it and put their own stuff on it).
Remember that India is now a nuclear power, so I think this could be a huge test of the open source security concept. Certainly if Pakistan somehow vanishes off the face of the earth, we'll know that they were running these things under root. How are we going to explain that to the world then? Huh?
Tech 1: Yeah they had a little nuclear exchange because everyone insisted running everything on root.
Tech 2: OMG we're going to switch back to Windows.
I remember taking the Iowa standardized tests in grade school...

*shakes fist at the world*
MS FUD machine running on fumes, -1.

Admit it, it's true.
