The "hollywood money" is only Democratic if you're talking about actors, and those aren't the ones who are actually calling for DRM. The studios give to almost everyone though.

Isn't the FSF the ones that created the GNU software without which there would be no Linux? (Whether or not Hurd would exist with GNU but no Linux is a toss-up, but something like Linux would eventually have been created, while the GPL was much more innovative)
Now that's a lie. I think most of the people singling Google out for privacy are stupid(everyone else regularly does much worse and nobody calls them up on it) but there are quite a few non-MS-lovers who think Google is evil. The obvious one is the GoogleWatch guy although he's mostly mad that nobody linked to his website so he got no PageRank.
There's a Google campus in Washington and a Microsoft campus very close to Mountain View. Because there are a lot of smart programmers in both locations and neither company wants to be without them.
You've made the mistake of thinking the only way to be a slave is to be physically coerced. That is not true. When the alternative is starving in the gutter, that's close enough to coercion for most people.
Marxism is the opiate of dumbasses -
Wow, you completely misunderstood Marx's metaphor. You see, when Marx said that religion is the opiate of the masses he was talking about how believing that justice will come in the afterlife made people less likely to stand up and take action. Believing in Marxism makes people more likely to stand up and take action. Which make it not an opiate. Ergo, you fail.
Okay, that one didn't work as well because "Wide Awake" doesn't really have the race card in it, instead focusing on more credible accusations of Bush not caring because they're poor. I just think Audioslave deserves a little love.
From "The Unlikeliest Cult in History":
What is it about Rand's philosophy that so emotionally stimulates proponents and opponents alike? Before Atlas Shrugged was published, at a sales conference at Random House a salesman asked Rand if she could summarize the essence of her philosophy, called Objectivism, while standing on one foot. She did so as follows (1962):
Metaphysics: Objective Reality
Epistemology: Reason
Ethics: Self-interest
Politics: Capitalism
Pretty much what you just said. Ayn Rand complicates things because her target audience likes things complicated. Her target audience likes things complicated because it gives them the excuse of saying that the detractors are just too stupid to understand.
I think Strong Bad said something like that to Marzipan once.
- His wife is dead.
- Osiris was removed from Sarah Gardner.
- The overlord of Earth thing only happened in a Shifu-induced dream.
You don't need to give up your geek card at the door as your geek card number has already been invalidated.Well, the real bad guys are actually in New York, so go bomb them.
But seriously, most of the tobacco farms in NC are being converted to other types of farms.
Fisher's test works on sample sizes that small. It comes down to about one percent.

If it's big enough, you usually do a z-test. If it's not big enough you use a Fisher test.
In other words, upstate New York is evil.

They probably meddle and make random changes because of the whiners.

You didn't listen to him when he said that his karma was almost certainly at the karma cap anyways so he really already had a karma buffer.
What the OP means is that it's not as big a deal as people are making it out to be. The whole "car accidents kill more people" argument and such.
There's a Google campus in Washington and a Microsoft campus very close to Mountain View. Because there are a lot of smart programmers in both locations and neither company wants to be without them.
How? By letting all your precious documents be read by humans instead of Google's computers?

The OP got a +5 Funny. Maybe it's due to your efforts but what Slashdot really needs is moderation history or something.
He was asking if the OP meant the meteor that created the Moon.

Who cares how good they are? What's at stake here is how good the song is.
Bob Dylan couldn't sing worth a damn either. If it weren't for his lyrics nobody would want to hear his voice.

You'll be in the cell in Hell right next to Osama, you know that, right?
