i had an experience w/ a stupid driver about 2 months ago, i was out picking up some grub at my local arby's, anyway, i was making a left hand turn (w/ my turn signal on) at a DEAD stop, and some dumb-bitch-with-an-suv-talking-on-a-cell-phone-and -not-paying-attention slams into my car doing about 50. me and my passenger were alright, only having minor injuries, the car was totaled...etc. anyway, stupid drivers are the real problem out there, and if there are any senators listening, talking on a cell phone while driving *should* be illegal.
... what is the fascination w/ the tivo? and why are there so many articles on/. about it? it's just a glorified vcr, right? someone please explain what the big deal is over tivo, thnx.
FYI: WHFS has gone downhill since it started broadcasting, more so in the past few years.
Listening to the radio for music is almost impossible these days as dj's talk as much as they can. The only stations that don't play the same 25 songs everyday, allday, are oldies stations, and i can only listen to them for a bit. Maybe i'm just lazy, but i don't feel like pressing scan over and over to find a song that i like, i just pop in a cd and leave it in for 2 weeks straight in my truck, or until i get sick of it. besides, mp3s are what have really broadened my music horizons, i purchase cd's because of single mp3 tracks i download. oh well, that's all i have to say about that.
This is great, first AMD attacked Intel w/ a rival to it's PIII, the Athlon, then w/ the Duron vs. Celeron, which gave them major exposure in the desktop pc market, and now, w/ dual processor support, they are attacking the "big money" market, that of servers. I'm sure I speak for many here when i say, 'way to go AMD!'. They really deserve the credit. I for one will be switching our servers from dual PIII servers to dual athlons.
do they have the prototype for sale? i'd love to get my hands on a cardboard pc case, if i was talented in the least w/ tools, i'd make one myself. power tools just scare me...
this is such a joke, parents should started taking some responsibility and stop blaming games for their children's behaviour. it makes me sick to see how quickly some parents would rather point their fingers at "violent games" instead of owning up to the fact that maybe the reason their kids are the way they are is because of bad parenting.
this is ridiculous, post an article on/., the #1 linux site about some up-and-coming linux company going under, and make a plea to the "big boys" (RH, VA, etc.) to give them some support. i don't know about you, but this sounds a bit fishy...
A: In English, the word "gnome" is pronounced with a silent "g". However, GNOME itself is generally pronounced as "guh-nome", just as GNU is pronounced "guh-noo" when referring to the GNU Project.
'nuff said. next time research before you post a dumbass comment!
here's a link for all you people bitching about how the new N-cube (or gamecube, or whatever the hell it's called) will not support DVD movie playback. according to this article:
this is strange though, when this story first ran on/., according to the cast list for episode 2, Kenny Baker was NOT on it. now after they announce that he will return, he is added? that's just odd. it could very well be that they didn't need kenny for the shooting in australia, but he will be shot at one or all of the other locations. either that, or lucas reads/.
MS helping out Open Source??
/me checks the date, can't believe it's not 4/1
woah, very...interesting...
