Of course you did. I mean, your hearsay completely destroys the solid proof of prior work I have shown.
And then why wouldn't you have just said this to begin with? Instead, you got extermely defensive, claiming a sig was changed. Not exactly a sign of truth.
I'd rather bitch about the original content than the unoriginal content.
However, you don't see Slashdot posting around the net saying "Look at me, look at me!". He could have gone the Mirrordot way, tried to create a good service, and then let word-of-mouth do the rest, but he's not. He's trying to draw attention to himself. This is like trying to get high pagerank on Google or signing up for "Hotmale.com". It's low.
It doesn't really matter. Although, at first, it was the combination that he was, more or less, taking credit for it (or at least not giving credit) AND, on top of that, attempting to scrap money from Slashdot. Mirrordot, which also has ads, isn't posting links on Slashdot trying to drive in traffic. He is.
But now he's under my skin because he didn't just come out and say "Yeah, I used it, so what?". He's all "Dude, no, no. See, he stole it from me! I mean, sigs can be changed, right?" It's not so much that he stole it ('using it' would be a better phrase), it's that he's lying about it.
I'm not saying what open source is does is wrong nor am I saying it is right; It is beside the point at the moment.
My problem is that the open source community brings up that Microsoft "stole" even though most open source software is "stolen". It is completely hypocritical. You cannot say "Stealing is wrong!" and then turn around and steal yourself.
So it's no wonder that Microsoft is one of the very few players who really don't seem to like open source.
Define "like open source". Do you think IBM or Sun "likes" about open source? Sure, they open source their products, but they're not doing so because it's a good development model or will produce better code. They're doing it for marketing and I guess it is working -- Seems to have Linus fooled.
Also, lest we forget Microsoft has open source'd code too.
Uhh... Actually, for the term "yahoohoogle" Yahoo!'s first result is Twingine. Google's first result is still yahoohoogle. So that would mean Yahoo won, right? However, according to the comments, that is the incorret word.
For the "correct" word, "yagoohoogle", both Google and Yahoo's first result is Twingine. Only difference on Google, I get an eBay ad while on Yahoo, zip.
This feels like Deja vu: It's the dot-com bubble all over again. Give stuff away for free in hopes of making money.
Oh, and my original post was to knock down the "innovation" argument. No, giving stuff away isn't innovation either.
Uhh... They bought the thing, didn't they? They bought it from Keyhole, no? And now have branded it and what not?
They're different. NASA World Wind has no annoying streaming problems, for example. However, it doesn't have this sweet... um... Google branding?
Or, like anyone else can do, I just Google'd the phrase and pointed out the obvious.
Just to wrap up, according to winkydinky, hearsay is greater than evidence. Foolish, I know.
Of course you did. I mean, your hearsay completely destroys the solid proof of prior work I have shown.

Why don't you just mark him as a foe so you don't have to see his posts?
How is that fun?
Why doesn't he just admit he didn't create the phrase?
I'd rather bitch about the original content than the unoriginal content.

Really? What domain? Is there a verified cache with the quote that pre-dates the anonymous coward's post?
The sig was quoted here: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=143326&cid=120 13412.
That was in March, before you signed up for the domain. (Isn't Google amazing?)
lol
In Case of Slashdotting, Break Mirror
A phrase he stole from this post and this user (check the sig). Both pre-date the domains registration.
And now he's trying to make some money off it. Pathetic.
Great physical security
Security through obscurity isn't security at all.
No clue. But it is one NARA.
That is my point exactly.

Just debunking your shoddy double-standard allegation.
You did a shoddy job at that. You more or less reaffirmed my point.
And "us" keeps shamelessly copying them. GAIM, OpenOffice, XMMS, and even Linux itself.
Don't hold Microsoft to a double-standard.

Anyone?
You are not physically depriving the creator of the orginal.
I guess walking out of Wal-Mart with a DVD isn't theft. After all, I'm not depriving the creator of the original.
Not "periodic", continuous. Own a website? Check your logs for the user-agent "ia_archive".

If I go to yahoo, I get inundated with crap regardless of if I log in or not.

Like... Wow.... So many banner ads and annoying stuff. (That's sarcasm. Irony will be demonstrated next.)
