  1. Parents on Second Version of CA Games Bill Derided · · Score: 1

It should be the parent's choice wether or not their kid goes out to buy violent video games. They should stop being so naive and question their kids if they're so concerned. I mean, the kids are the parent's responsibility, not the retalers.

Besides, if a kid wants to play a video game, they're gonna play it. At a friend's house or whatever.

Video games /are/ violent. That's the whole fun :P I agree with Hal Haplin. They keep game ratings, it's illegal to sell, but not illegal to play underage. So what difference does it make?

Besides, they could have different channels you could set them to specific to each XBox so they wouldn't get confused between eachother. Like they do with wireless doorbells and things.

  3. Regargable whilst you play, okay... but... on Xbox 2 to Have Wireless Controllers Standard · · Score: 1

There are so many problems with this it's silly. Please correct me if it's already been mentioned before - but this is not a cost effective solution, even if they do use rechargable batteries.

For one, okay, with rechargable batteries, cuts costs a little bit - means you don't have to go and buy new ones all the time.

Can you recharge them whilst you play? I don't know. Well, if you can't, then it's pretty useless, right? You'd always have to have spares.

They could make batteries to charge whilst they're in the controller so you can play and charge at the same time, this is a better idea, but still - it's not cost effective. Why?

Rechargable battery packs don't last forever. I don't know anyone who periodically goes out and buys new controllers every few months. If you play the XBox enough, these batteries will last no time. It'll get to the point where you have to stop and charge every thirty minutes. You'll have to buy new XBox controller specific battery packs. These will, most likely, cost a bomb. Knowing Microsoft.

    It's a no-win situation. Except for Microsoft.

  4. Re:Rechargable on Xbox 2 to Have Wireless Controllers Standard · · Score: 1

Yes, that would be a good idea. Have two sockets, one for plugging directly into the XBox in case you wanted it to be wired, and another slot for recharging, so you can charge and play and have wireless at the same time (or well, sequentially :P wireless, wired and charging, wired, wireless)

A bit like when you connect the GBA to gamecube without a fancy cable, there's still space to charge the gba whilst you play.

Otherwise making an only wireless controller is an absolutely useless idea. I know how annoyed I am when having to change batteries with a GBA & Gamecube.

You know most services run on Windows. I hope some more companies can follow from this example. I have been around in museums with small interactive computers with windows errors popped up! It's insane. If they just used Linux it would be:

    a) Cheaper

    b) More reliable

    Good on 'em.

That's what I think, too. I mean, it'd make me, and probably a lot more people become more interested in iPods since there's so many other MP3 players etc. out there. What sets the iPod apart from the others except for the fact it's 'pretty'?! Hehe. I mean, (disregarding the shuffle for the moment) there are smaller ones, and ones that play a larger range of file extensions, and cheaper ones... But not all of them have what he just denied x_x I think he needs to fix that, don't you?

  11. A Good Reviewer, Reviews. on Great Gamers Not Always the Best Reviewers · · Score: 1

If someone who is detached from the subject material can be a better reviewer... then wouldn't it be somewhat inaccurate. Especially if they don't fully understand the concepts of or are uninterested in a particular game they have been handed :P

I think you need to be attached to the material at least, or you might give a totally lame review. Like some other people have said - games mean different things to different people.

I think a good reviewer can take every single aspect of gameplay and put it together. This includes graphics, reliability, sound, gameplay, enjoyability, difficulty, genre appeal... you get my drift. Most people seem to focus on specific aspects. This might however mean a time consuming and slightly less enjoyable time playing :P

Turning a hobby into a chore. Don't do it :P If you want to read reviews to find games you might enjoy, you should just find a reviewer you know is like yourself and stick with 'em :P
