It's really hard to get your coke from under your keys. Either you have to use a can of compressed air and then you lose most of you coke when it gets shot into the air. Or worse, you try to snort it out of the keys, you are inhaling so hard and fast you are about to pass out, your boss comes in and you have your nose pressed against the crtl key. You try to explain to him that as a linux user you have a hard time pressing crtl+alt+del using just your fingers but the white smudge under you nose gives you away. I've lost countless jobs this way...

I see how in small networks it won't work. But it does work in large networks. A company I worked for does this and it works very well. The company had close to 1000 employee's and anywhere between 1-3 machines per employee.

  10. Bill the departments on Helping IT Save Money ... and Jobs? · · Score: 1

Have each department billed for the services you provide for that department. If a tech spends 3 hours on a computer from HR, make them pay for those 3 hours. Do not make them pay for the full cost of the tech but set a standard rate. Also set hardware/software standards. If the departments fail to meet those standards, they are billed at a higher rate.

ADSL in my casket? I'll put up a webcam so my family can watch me decay. Or get FTTC (fiber to the casket) and I'll have a server in my casket with one of the largest p2p nodes ever. That will be my contribution to the world.
