Quite a few virusses and hacks rely on buffer overflow errors. So eliminating that goes a long way.
In fact I think Dutch courts took it to far, or at least farther than they would have for other pruduct that mislead the public through advertising.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for truth in advertising, but this is selective justice.
I have yet to see one laundry detergent that fail to get your cum stains out of your mothers favorite sweater to actually get banned for false advertising.
If you like to "work" on a PC without being able to look on the screen, I won't object. But I like to see what I'm doing.:-) So, unless you also have a cordless display, the "through walls" aspect is pretty useless.
As we are talking about controlling you mediaPC, yes I do have that on a wireless screen, ie. my TV connected to a RF AV transmitter/receiver.
And as my mediaPC is a knoppmyth installation, I can even #bash away on a large res tty, from my couch, on my TV.
The organization selling the product. That should be easy enough to track. Just trace the money after payment or backtrack where the delivery comes from.
Maybee we should concentrate on producing MORE energy cleanly instead of trying to save on consumption. Cause saving on a consumption is fighting a lost battle.
You can not stop the growing need for power in evolving nations. I just wish the oil would run out once and for all. Finally forcing mass production of solar cells, hydrogen power, and methanol fuel cells.
It'll be a cold day in hell when I turn off my PC. As long as hell doesn't freeze over I'll be tapping it's heat for power.
I've got a webserver a knoppmyth box and I'm definatly thinking of doing a wall mounted version of a digital picture frame.
The first movies of the HHGTTG were made by the BBC during Adams' life and were not changed one iota from the original 'radio series'.
The books however have more tekst that "the original radio series"
So in case you didn't notice my nitpick here: The HHGTTG was not translated to screen from books, but from radio script. The books came after that script. And the original movie dates back to the 1970s and even stars the original radio cast.
This link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081874) is NOT the original movie, but the short version of that original movie which is more than 3 hours long. (Sadly no imdb entry for the original movie)
I'm not gonna stand here saying I probably wouldn't rather have $27k to burn, but lets assume for a second that I don't.
As I said before though, looks and sound are not important. Stick your PC in a different room, or in my case on a different floor and use RF equipment to send the video to the TV. (it 'll run you about 50 bucks)
P.S. I just checked the price. One HD 200 GB WD. 7200T 8M , 98,72 EUR
I just assumed US prices were lower. No?
Ok, so if you don't have some disks to spare you'll probably end up spending a bit more than 300$ BooHoo. I've still spent 26.700$ less.
"i really think apple records has no case bceause ask anyone who apple is they will point at apple computer."
Well, in that case they DO have a case...
Apple argued that there was no confucion because one was music and the other was computers. Trademark law does not take into account "polls" on where people would "point".
Apple music was first in using the word for a music distibution company. And that gives them the right to use it for that purpose. iTunes violates that.
No, the problem is that with the current system of copyrights, fees and licencing, it is almost impossible for a user to know which music can be freely distributed and which can't.
If IT does their job well, the monkey jobs in the IT industry will/should become obsolete.
However, this does not mean skilled IT jobs will decrease in number. Quite on the contrary. The new automated backoffices will need MORE IT staff to keep it running smoothly.
IE: Replace 3 monkeys by 1 IT professional.
(For example: Replace 3 monkeys running back and forth with CD's to install software with one IT professional that installs stuff remotely or creates new software that runs from the intranet.)
"As a percentage of GDP, the USA gives less in aid than almost all other developed nations."
And in absolute numbers thay give near to most. Are you worried about giving to little, or about earning to much??
"Rush in? Tell that to the victims of the Blitz. Where was the USA when Poland was invaded? When the tanks swept into Paris? The USA only got involved in WWII when Pearl Harbor was bombed."
Hogwash. If they went any faster you would be praising pour democratically elected Hitler who was ousted by premature US.
That doesn't make any sense. I just looked at my layout. It's a Frensh layout keyboard!!
Why bother making a french layout if your not going to sell in france.
I do think we have "THE MAN" himself here.
IP rights and their protection don't actually defend the inventors, nor do the defend the research labs that invest.
They protect the venture capitalists and ruling industry giants.
They stiffle inovation by limiting the right to improve on old and use new technology to its full potential.
The site was/is www.e-buyonline.com
Grab a google now and again would you....
How can we aver convince MPAA and RIAA of the legitimate uses of BitTorrent if you start bashing a simple maillist creator at the drop of a hat.
We aint getting anywhere with that attitude...

Tell me again that's not worth $175.
With spammers it should be easier...
There's always a beneficiary.
The organization selling the product. That should be easy enough to track. Just trace the money after payment or backtrack where the delivery comes from.
It should be to hard to trace.
I specifically like Green eggs and Spam.
So then I guess I've been controlling my KnoppMythbox illeagally for the last year or so...
Oh well....
This remote has a 100ft, through the walls, range... That makes it the only way to work on a PC in the other room as far as I know.
Pit that cost against making the mythical and practically impossible "silent PC"
Not overpriced. Only a pitty that I can't buy a replacement for mine in Belgium. (My daughter threw it to the floor and busted some keys)
Maybee we should concentrate on producing MORE energy cleanly instead of trying to save on consumption. Cause saving on a consumption is fighting a lost battle.

So let me get this straight!
You bought a $700 system which runs linux on a P166. You got ripped off dude.
I bought a Toshiba-Libretto for $50. Silent as a whisper.
I'll have to shell out some dough for a wooden frame, but I'm pretty sure it will be under $600. LOL

Think of a + twelve letter phrase or word.
Like for instance "welikeslashdot"
It's the 12th month of 2004 so we combine the 12th letter with the 4th "di"
Now u can use "UserID@WebApp-di" en next month you use "UserID@Webapp-wk"
That way others will not be able to guess next months password with quite as much ease.
Ok, maybee it's stupid, but it works for me.
Like I said, not counting the spare PC.
I'm not gonna stand here saying I probably wouldn't rather have $27k to burn, but lets assume for a second that I don't.

I'll do you one better. Rip it to Xvid on your KnoppMythTV box.
You can get more video on one 250Mb drive than on 300 discs in any changer.
Roll your own with Myth TV
I rip all my DVD's to disk. Sure I don't have 3.3 TB, but I do rip tot Xvid onto 3 250Mb disks (0.75TB) So I guess I can store more video. HA!
Cost? less than 300$ (not counting the surpluss PC)
$29k? That's just stupid!

Apple shouldn't even be selling music as a result of their agreement with "APPLE music". (You know, the beatles' record label...)
Amayzing that they are now defending what they were then refuting.
It's kind of like MS ripping off windowed GUI and then pattenting their own. (Oops I just cited precedent...)
No, the problem is that with the current system of copyrights, fees and licencing, it is almost impossible for a user to know which music can be freely distributed and which can't.
The down side is that noone invests a billion dolars in R&D except organizations as NASA.
Initiatives like this will stunt development.

You do realize that Kyoto is about greenhouse gasses, and NOT, I repeat NOT about ozone layers, UV rays or SP Factors.
