    That is easy, they just sell to retailers. Retailers have licenses to sell cars, so there is no problem. However, if you make custom parts, that scenario does not apply.

    Why don't you switch to Macs? Arguably the best of both worlds, especially if you deal with graphics.

    I don't see the point why we need to convince Slashdot to use Linux. I would see a reason for such a newsstorry on CNN or, even better, MSNBC. Wait, why am I thinking this won't happen? Oh, maybe b/c AOL's software doesn't run on Linux? Or is it b/c MS owns MSNBC? As long as the newsmedia and telecomunication industry is owned by the players that have a stake in sticking to Windows, we will not see Linux in mainstream in the US.

    I wonder how long it will be before the first worms show up probagating via bluetooth interfaces, turning cellphones into bots sending out mass SMS spam...oh, wait a minute...Why only cell phones, why not as well printers or any other bluetooth device? Next thing you know, your printer starts printing all that pr0n spam!

    Yeah, that's an easy one! Some professors mark certain sections to be only available from on-campus providers, and since Tech also hosts all other ISPs in the area, it is easy for page admins to only allow Blacksburg accesses. Another (and far beeter) page is by W. McQuain. He has all his stuff available for public, except the grades. And even those are assigned using fake IDs.
