Kind of redundant the fact that she works with managing cybercrime, privacy and cyber-abuse risks... I wonder which side is she on? What they are clearly doing to that woman in katie.com is an abuse. I ask to anyone who can answer, what kind of IP does one have over a domain name that you have been paying for almost 10 years. Cleary the author in the book is reading too much Microsoft press, because she is basically trying to intimidate this person into giving her a domain that it is not hers.

I get at some points in the game, vertex spikes, which means the graphics tear down to the center of the screen. I have the latest drivers for ATI and in all the levels I have been I experience this issue. I tried switching to the beta 4.9 catalyst and I get the same issue. I don't overclock anything in my system.
The sound plays well in other games, like farcry or battlecry 3, or even SWG, CoH and Lineage II... In all those games my surround settings work, so i doubt it is a driver or hardware problem. I have tried enabling then from Windows and from the driver itself and no luck.
My general attitude is that I am pissed with the game. I think I have a right to express myself how I feel, and if you feel offended by how I express myself then you shouldn't take the time to answer, but if you are going to answer the least you could do is give me a proper answer and screw how annoying I can be when I am pissed. To inform you more, I happen to be a knowledgable individual, and frankly I am tending to belive you are just a Doom3 troll, who is offended I just said id made a shitty game with a bunch of errors because my system is not running it well.
Further on I will include my system specs, so you can have a better idea what I am running just in case you incline yourself to answer my questions, if my attitude still is annoying, then I am sorry Sr, but it is just how this game makes me feel.

whoop de fucking doo. Guess what chump. I got it yesterday from suprnova, my new kmart. I am glad I did, because the game for all the great engine, graphics it has still has glitches on my radeaon 9600pro and I have 1.5gb of ram.
From id I expected a nearly flawless game, but at every corner I get the shitty spikes flowing into my screen. Igot the latest everything and it still glitches.
The sound? I have 7.1 speakers and the game will NOT recognize my superb Surround sound, so I have to listen to the game with my 3 front speakers because the remainin four don't work with this game meaning it wont accept my surround settings.
I am glad I didn't dump 54.99 on this game because now I have enough money to buy fable and halo 2. Besides this game should be prioced at the $45 or $49 line.

PS. to id if you read this: Carmack you are a fucking god... but why does the game glitches so bad? why not a demo to see if it will run decent on my machine.. Why didn't you go HL2 way which their engine looks fucking awesome and it runs on a dime. Aside form that can you lend me your ferrari since you will be getting a famdamily car when the baby is born? Will you name the baby John and nickname him Romero?
i am getting graphic glitches, like jittering corners getting dragged. I also installed Hare 1.5.1 and it has increased my performance a bit more. but the graphic glitches are present. I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, AMD 2800XP 1.5gb ram and audigy 2.
Another question would be if you guys know how can I set my audigy 2 so the game recognizes my 7.1 speakers. when I switch to surround speakers the game says it didn't detect any surround sound speakers...
I think this is a good thing that is happening. Google has raised the standards to what a real search engine should be. I don't like to be molested by shit and pop ups when I am looking for information.
I know as well as you know that everyting that crosses in front of Microsoft's field of global domination is a threat to them. Browesers, OS, Applications. The only thing I fear is one day waking up to live in a Microsoft Enforced World. Where they have everything and worst we are forced to use it. Apple does this with their users, but they are crunching and building for them, they are not trying too hard to convince the world to change to apple, yeah they do it in marketing and switch ads, but you don't see jobs shoving competition into everything they land their eyes on.
What I can only think that could put this in worst is if Google decides to launch an IM of their own. That would complete the set of wars we are going to live through:
1. The new browser war IE vs Firefox 2. Longhorn vs OSX 3. Hotmail, Yahoo vs Google 4. Xbox vs PS3 vs Nintendo Gcube 2005 5. Msn Messenger vs yahoo vs aim vs trillian?
My generation survived the Netscape war, and though this kind of competitions bring better innovations it does get a bit tiresome... Microsoft should keep the seat they have in the desktop market and let other companies compete in other arenas instead of trying to own it all.
The most interesting of these wars in my opinion will be the Console war, frankly aside from it all I think Microsoft will win it because of Xbox Live!

Actually the thing that makes them illegal is the use of Bios's made with illegal SDK's... it happens the same on xbox modchips. Selling the modchip is not illegal, or owning it. But having software done with illegal sdk then it makes it all illegal.

you know half of the innovations come out of tinkering... For example, Mocosoft doesn't like it when people copy their software, still people do it. Now if yo uwerent able to crack and hack their software how could people learn to do one new thing or the other. I think that you should be able to mod your console, but then just find some legal bios (like cromwell) and use that... then again you could give a slight (just a slight) fuck and use whatever you want I think that is what uk should do... for queen and country... hack the planet!

From what I understood what makes the modding illegal is the use of tools from the developers (like in the xbox, the xdk or the xna), to create applications for the consoles. Like any application created with its sdk then its illegal cuz the sdk was not purchased properly.
Then again this shouldn't stop people to do whatever they want. Old Skool Piracy still happens, its illegal sure, but people do it quietly at home... its wrong but people do it so I guess you guys can still ccontinue to do it and it should be alright just as long as no one knows...;)

how did you get it to work at all? I have an audigy2 but d3 won't see it in my configuration... I don't have surround sound in it... Please help?
