You think that Uber allow their "contractors" to negotiate their own salaries? They offer everyone less than minimum wage and say "take it or leave it".
I was always sniffy about KDE from way back when it was built using a non-free version of Qt. Recently I have found myself getting so annoyed by GNOME Shell that I decided to give it a try.
What do you know? I really like it. It looks great and can be configured to work more or less how I like it. I think it might be a keeper.
This is whatever version of KDE comes with Debian Jessie.
It doesn't have to be "Communism" (or if you prefer it "Socialism") vs "Capitalism".
Human beings are endlessly inventive. We can create new kinds of socio-economic systems which improve upon anything we have seen before and are acceptable to the large majority of the population.
My comment that people take screenshots of their Guardian comments and tweet them with the hashtag "#censoredbycif" was itself removed by the Guardian's moderators.
I recently gave up visiting the Guardian website after being an avid reader since my student days in early 80s. The reason for this was an increase in click-bait articles combined with heavy handed and capricious moderators in the comments section.
As this is such a niche product - I certainly have no interest in it - I guess the price is okay for whoever really needs such a device.
I am still content with my old Kobo touch. The battery life is still okay and it is in great condition considering I take it to work with me every day. If it broke I would almost certainly replace it with a newer Kobo model as I have got such great value from my current one.
I am using Chrome with Adblock Plus on Android. As long as you can change the proxy settings for WiFi and mobile connections (and I can) it works fine. My phone (Sony Xperia Z3) is not even rooted. You have to download it from the Adblock site as Google have blocked it from the Play store.
This is just ridiculous. The problem here is that the attacker was able to create a new DNS sub-domain. The Let's Encrypt angle is just a red herring from a company (Trend Micro) that wants to make money selling SSL certificates.
The reality is that people who gamble are stupid. The house - or whoever makes the rules - always wins. They are the smart guys who wouldn't even be in the game if they weren't winning.
I use it on my mobile sometimes because it seems quicker and easier than wrestling with the on-screen keyboard. On a device with a real keyboard I have no use for it.
I use Nova launcher. Similar to the stock Sony Xperia launcher with some nice additional touches. I can't think of anything about it that annoys me.
I use Firefox on my Android smartphone because it supports Ublock/Adblock.

Ahh - it works if you configure a user agent add-on to report the browser as Chrome on Linux. Neat...
When I try to view Netflix using FireFox 49 on Linux it asks me to install Silverlight...
Chrome on Android does not support Adblock so I use Firefox on Android.
If I use Firefox on Android I might as well use it on Windows and Linux.
So I stopped using Chrome.

Maybe. I hope so.

I just want to state, for the record, that I am a big wanker. And I don't care who knows it...
Has all the hallmarks of a PR stunt to get MS+AI in the news. It worked perfectly.
It is commonly referred to as "Darwin's Theory of Evolution". That is hardly hiding the fact that it is a scientific theory...

Debian with this: https://wiki.debian.org/Fonts#... fonts.conf looks great IMHO. I wish I knew why this configuration is not the default...

The other side is facing away at all times and is permanently in shadow.
Usenet?

Gambling is stupid. Anyone who gambles is already being ripped off.

I loved CDE. Went out of my way to find Motif apps for everything. Even Netscape Communicator was Motif based! So sad that it faded like it did.
Oh, and even better is 100 JPY for a bottle of iced Oolong tea from a convenience store. Oishii ne.
