Ok come on here.. Advertising while i fast forward.
I bought the device
I pay direct tv through the nose for programming (monthly)
I pay direct tv again just to use the tivo (monthly)
I'm playing by the rules and still feel like i'm getting screwed, wait that's because i am..
It's time we stood up to the big guys. -my2cents
They are at it again..
I don't care that it's "someone" in the microsoft organization that told Baystar that Sco would be ripe for the pickings.
The Fact that this person works for Microsoft makes me want to go back to school and become a lawyer.
When will the FUD from this organization end?
Correct me if I'm wrong but there is an amendment to the constitution that states anyone with a Valid drivers license may vote. So when you see XX many voted more than their were voters you will know why.
The High Price of hardware??
Is he Joking? How about the Extremely High price of software. For crying load i can get a new computer for less than the cost of a full retail copy of office. And if you want figure in the upgrade in 2 years your up to 7-8 hundred dollars easy..
We need to face the fact that we pay err are charge way to much for software.. This method of though was formed after realizing that microsoft still had 35 BILLION in cash..
Well i guess they didn't upgrade to XP to be the most insecure you can be oh sorry, the most secure.
People have seen it coming for a long time..
MS is going down hill.. but it will take a while as they have 34 billion to waste first.
Then again why is microsoft one of the only companies that are not in the red..
Go figure eh.
But your missing the point?
1. We already know that the EOL on some linux distro's is short (some times what seems like to short).
2. Windows 2000 has not reached the end of life which means that microsoft must support every piece of it, reguardless.
3. There first antitrust suit stated that explorer was and integral intergated piece of windows. now it's not? try uninstalling IE and see what happens
That's my point.
-Thanks
Ok here is my view..
They are not going to be supporting an operating system that has NOT reached end of life..
Lets see another antitrust suit!
Thankfully i switched to linux 4 years ago.
Long Live Tux!
Ok i'm got a Huge problem with this..
In game advertising?
I mean HELLO... I just shelled out 50 dollars for the newest first person shooter from viacom and now i have to sit through advertising..
Seriously if they are going to include adverts in my new video games i want a BIG discount or the darn thing for free.. Why should i have to sit and watch adverts when i just payed through the teeth for the game...
I only see this as a further step to make people steal games.. If viacom make 100 dollars because i played the game for 1000 hours. that's not fair and i'm sure others will see it this way as well..
These game companies need to get real and stick to what they know, building games.
Best Buy is a virus..
I bought Klipsh speakers for my computer the darn things were 499. I bought the Extented warranty 3 year warranty and then in 18 months when they went bad. ( audio crackling etc ).
They would not replace them. Their reply was that these speakers were not used in doors.. ( which is Bs as they sit in my server room @ a constant 71 degree's.. So if i have A/c in the house that voids the warranty... BEWARE.
I have used Vmware for over a year now and i remeber using the older version of windows virtual pc on my mac.
I know it's like comparing apples to oranges but i'd say Vmware is by far superior is usability, stability, and features. And the Fact that they do support every OS i run, makes it that much better.
Ok it's been over two years the feds have given some of his equipment back ( given not in the original condition). So abvoiusly they didn't get what they thought they were going to find on the machines.
Has this man yet to be charged with a formal crime?
This is just a witch hunt by the mpaa.
Take them apart like the government did with the bells a few years back..
Oh wait sbc is buying everything back..
Point being we as citizens need to keep an eye on these types of things or your rights will get lobbied away.
nine times out of ten.
I was told no you can't take a user off the network if there machine is infected..
They need to work. ( well yea so do the other 3000 employees. ) management needs a wake up call across the board. in any event that user was taken off the network swiftly.
Beside Fully Disclosing when data is lost / compromised, Companies that show they can not protect such data should not have said data.
Plain an Simple..
I'm tired of the the fact that companies don't care about security. The would rather say how much they lost so they get the tax write off.
-I pour over ever log every day looking for oddities. If companies would spend the time on security things like this could be prevented. and the other fact.
How did they get 8.2gb out of the place? Was is disk was it through the Internet.
If someone was trying to send that much data out of my office be damned sure i would have caught that.
By the way i haven't been infected with a virus in over 4 years. Think that is a coincidence? no it's called proactive defense and if you don't practice it you will get hit eventually.
I may not agree with how p2p is currently used by the masses but it's a great way to share / find files. If this were applied to the library or congress or even public records it would be a great education tool.
That is exactly what government doesn't want.. They don't want the masses to be able to easily find public governemnt documents and educate themselves. Contray to popular belief they would rather have citizens that are as dumb as possible.
Why not install wirelles Ap's in traffic signals? There sure are enough of them around in urban areas but would be trouble some in some areas of the country where some towns only have a stop sign.
