I know your just joking, but...
Since this would be a highly specialized Version of
Knoppix it should be possible to shrink it so far that it would fit on a credit card size CD.
It's not censorship. They specifically say that it's a "resource for politically left people". So you know what to expect when downloading their content. If you want no political slanting, don't use their service, that's all there is to say.
Again: not censorship
Why exactly is there a need to "legitimize" the Bittorrent protocol?
AFAIK there never was an initiative to outlaw the protocol itself.
Talk about paranoia.
I don't think we have much to worry about - the costs will be prohibitive for all save the largest organizations
I predict that within 100 years computers will be twice as powerful, 10,000 times larger, and so expensive that only the five richest kings in Europe will own them.
Nevertheless this will allow a potential attacker to gain root access by taking advantage of a local exploit. So this effectively turns any (or at least some) local security bug that might be sitting on your machine into a remote root exploit.
I'm guessing the law doesn't have any post facto clauses.
Correct. Follow the last link: Q: Can I use these cards after July 1st 2005?
A: Yes you can use them, they are "grandfathered" into the new
regulations. It will always be completely legal to use them. The card
ignores the copy right bit and if a show has this bit enabled, the
card doesn't care and will save the stream in full quality anyway.
And even if you don't want others to see that there are services running on your host there are better solutions. e.g. sending a special string to some UDP port.
Sounds interesting.
Is there an implementation of this scheme already available?
are link farms to porn sites.
for sufficiently high values of 2
I already got 1 million monkeys in my basement working on it.
I stand corrected. I checked at DistroWatch, which doesn't seem up to date.
one more reason why Qt is superior to Gtk
Considering that DSL lacks Xorg, a window manager, firefox... i don't think it would be easier.

It's gibberish to begin with.
It's already in DistroWatch. Check it out for a quick overview of package versions.
... that ISPs and search engines could be in trouble for providing access to sites promoting suicide. Also, watch those links in your Guestbook!
It's not a triangle, it's an axis.
sheesh!
if you really want to mod me offtopic you could at least choose one of my posts that truely deserve it.
Where is this "push" you're talking about? Your link to tinyP2P just isn't relevant in this context. Nice little piece of Software, though.

I think I got modded funny just for the sig.
Maybe I should get an insightful one.
which one?
One thing I noticed is that people *hate* to read in general, and they certainly make no exceptions for technical docs.
Now if you would include a DVD that tells them about the most important stuff about their distro, that would propably work.
Pain In The Rear?
MAC addresses need to be broadcast. Also they can easily be spoofed.
So yes, you understand this correctly.

DDT could do this just as well...
