Unemployment levels as a measure of economic health is bullshit. If somebody loses a well-paying full-time job with benefits, and then picks up a low-paying part-time job without benefits, UL considers that to be a wash: one job lost and one job gained. Clearly that is nonsense.
The only meaningful measure of the health of an economy is median annual wage, adjusted for inflation.
If you can have a conversation with a simulated person presented by an AI program, can you tell how far you've let your sense of personhood degrade in order to make the illusion work for you?
You have to perform the test in a scientific fashion.
In the original Turing test, a human converses freely with a machine for an arbitrary period of time (days? months?) . The human has no idea who or what they are conversing with.
Afterword, a panel of experts reviews the recordings of the conversation and tries to determine which was the human and which was the machine. This repeats many (dozens? hundreds?) of times. If a statistically significant number of judges guess right, then the machine has failed the test. Otherwise, the test must have been too easy.
I've lived in the U.S. and in a country with socialized medicine. The U.S. version is a pathetic joke by comparison. Of course, U.S. medicine is advanced, but only the rich can afford it. For everybody else, tough luck.
Inability to pay hospital bills is the #1 cause of bankruptcies in the U.S.
Such things never happen in Canada or in any other civilised nation.
Assuming the US can survive a similar onslaught by the fascist assholes like LeftCoastThinker.
FTFY.
since it allowed them to have children who are more likely to succeed despite their parents' elevated melanin levels.
And much less likely to be shot by a cop.
Who's hands is it going to be in?? The Good? or The Bad?
Nope, the Ugly.
Wonder of wonders.
A truly scientific post on slashdot.
Woah dude.
Ease off on those psychotropic drugs.

No, it's a science misunderstood by people who don't know economics.
Yeah, like people with degrees in Economics.
The boundary between "friend" and "enemy" is fuzzy and can change
Wrong! We have always been fighting EastAsia!
What? Oh uh, like I said,
We have always been fighting EurAsia!
Those whiners are time-travellers from the 80's.
I have been burned by suck ass films too much in theaters
Ever heard of RottenTomatoes?
Are you a time traveller?
I haven't had an experience like that since the 80's.
Mom rushed to a different hospital (the hospital I was at doesn't accept their insurance)
That is fucking insane.
Thanks, republicans.
If you lack a crystal ball, then you have no fucking idea what machines of the next century will be able to do.
And neither does anyone else.
It's the AI-crazy 80's again.

It doesn't have feelings, or pain, or sex organs.
And it absolutely will not stop until it fucks you!
We need more people so we'll have more great thinkers and doers to solve the big problems and lead into the future.
And for every thinker and doer we'll get a dozen non-thinking non-doers, making the problems that much worse.
The key is not to over use.
What the hell does that mean?
So yes, this is a start, but I suspect that it is only the beginning of parents taking their schools back from the alt-left brainwashers.
And given to alt-right retards like you.
That's because the are sitting down, with a seat belt around them.

Perhaps coal isn't too bad after all.
Only to a shithead like you.
No grid connection, its not a legal house. Connect the grid and pay for that every year and its legal.
Well, you can always use the grid to power one night light and solar for everything else.
which decays away in about 300 years.
A hell of a lot of shit can go down in 300 years.
Like someone digging it up and using it to make a dirty bomb.
"Claims" is 100% correct.
