I think this clearly explains a need for a virtualization solution from their side. If MS Virtualizer is running, then, barring exploits, it won't be possible for malware to run its code at hypervisor level.
Remarkably enough, that had not happened with Facebook. They even went so far as to use images instead of text for email addresses, just so they couldn't be collected by bots.
But yes, this idea is even worse than Facebook from the P.O.V. of getting any work done at all:).
To both of the people who replied: look up Occam's Razor./uh yeah, they pretended to be Jewish just so they could get Israeli citizenship. And they have names like Levin and Goldman. Yes. Russkies.
The job where I have to deal with bullshit like "be here at 8 sharp" and "sit until 5" is a job I would be changing... fast.
So, frankly, I wouldn't care how late I would arrive. This is very useful, however, in terms of gas money. You don't want to sit in traffic for hours on end. That costs.
...keeping in mind that "classic" and "run an unmodified version of an IA-32 OS" are slightly different tasks, the second being a lot harder than the first. There was direct support for "classic" in OS X, and the "classic" kernel and related were modified extensively.
Cringely is an idiot though, I have no patience for people who think they come off being smart. Yeah, sure.... if Apple were to add Win32 API support, they *wouldn't* build upon existing OSS work (just like the *didn't* do that when they made OS X, right Bob?).
In reality, if they were going to add Win32 API support, they would most likely base it off WINE.
Get a grip. The real purpose of the site is basically a "white pages" type deal. You need to come into contact with someone, but you don't have thier contact info.
Uh... what do you mean broadcast? Any traffic originating from your computer has your IP address in it. Any traffic going to your machine has your IP address in it. You may use a web proxy, sure, but who says the proxy server records cannot be made given-to the relevant authorities in a time of need?
Frankly, I could see a market for this *maybe* 10-12 years ago. It just doesn't make any sense now. The internet is not solely about static content. Also, the thimble of data provided in each pack will be underwhelming and perpetually out of date.
I mean, if I know I won't be online for a week, what stops me from just CURLing or WGETing whatever I plan on reading for the next couple of weeks? And that goes only for static content like books and articles. Everything else is cannot be simply cached.
The problem isn't that it isn't there. The problem is that you need to do something to make use of it. On OS X, if there is some task that needs admin access, I get prompted accordingly. With windows, such functionality is only available in certain control panel applets.
As someone who has the priviledge of living in the fine state of Illinois, I can tell you that law is never enforced. Nothing pisses me off more that seeing ALL LANES being blocked by two idiots running side by side (d00d lets look at each others trucks, LOL!) , or by several cars in a checker-like position.
Its also sad when you see a semi snake between sedans and minis, passing them.
Rest assured that everyone and their grandmother have been working on one ever since VT/Pacifica became available. That was probably even before the public document release. The real question - who will be first? Apple or Microsoft? Both are already late - $50 buys you a VT/pacifica hypervisor already to run your stuff on.
Honestly, if I had an intel Mac, I would go with Apple's solution. Something tells me Apple knew what they were doing better than someone else. Plus, BAMBIOS doesn't even have the OSS advantage here, which for something that based itself off bochs, sounds like a GPL violation.
Please... if anything, Windows is a much bigger threat to OS X than anything else. The only reason you do NOT see any support for Linux from Apple is the same reason you don't see Windows XP available for every single architecture out there - it sounds good in theory, but you better be able to make some returns on your investment.
Too bad its also riddled with bugs. Honest to God, I don't think I care anymore whether the problem is with the zapata drivers for my 4-port FXO card, or with Asterisk. Both have been upgraded to oblivion. And still - some lines mysteriously disappear, Asterisk not answering them, or answering them with an ear-piercing squeal.
Very interesting nevertheless.
OT: but do mention your four degress of separation from V.V. Putin. Must be a great story waiting to be told.

Congratulations. You've just invented Palladium.

Last I checked, this so-called "Russian" Mob was based out of Tel-Aviv.
But why yes, the majority of the victims are poor and destitute women from former bloc countries, lured in by the hope of work and money.
No, like when you actually need to contact someone from one of your classes, and you don't happen to know their contact info.

So it's "much ahead", while still being based on 1.1. So which one is it?

More so, you need 40 HDCP devices that have been hacked appropriately.

Beat to market by what? A closed-source hack that, for supposedly being based off pieces of bochs, I can't find ANY source code for?

Helllooooo Godwin.
Flaimbait? Step on someone's toes, eh?

AFAIK still in use for DVD-RAM disks. I still have a Toshiba SCSI CD-ROM drive which uses a cartridge.
