There's a difference between people who hate and people who do not like G.W.Bush, and I think the majority of those people you've mentioned are from second cathegory.
My question is: What Mr. President still thinks about the weapons of mass destructions in Iraq?
You're right.. but I've never said it was a big mistake. All I said was that it was a common mistake.
Anyhow, the chances of new russian invation are the same as the chances the next US president will be an alien:) So, I think there should be serious privacy concerns.
And the last thing... historically speaking the country behind the Great Russia actually is Ukraine.
It has been said quite a few times already that biometrics by themself cannot be used as primary authentication. The insecurity lies within the fact that it cannot be changed after it has been spoofed.
Another problem with the use of biometrics is described here.
It's a common mistake to refer to Soviet as Soviet Russia... Russia was a part of the Soviet Union same way as Estonia, so, saying what you actually did doesn't make any sence;)
Is this a smart business move, or a violation of the GPL?
While I can't say anything about this being a smart business move, I can take on the GPL part.
I don't think it violates GPL, because it's not certain that the "Works", as they chose to call it, will be released under GPL: "Ximian may at its sole discretion also offer the Works or a Program enhanced by the Works under other license terms." Note that you'd agree all copyrights to be transferred to Ximian and therefor it would be their decision to choose the license. I also don't think GPL prohibits the code to be used in commercial programs as long as they freely disribute the source. If they indeed release "Works" under the GPL then calling it proprietary code would be kind of doll, as they won't exclusively own it. Well, if I understand GPL correctly... It might be a good idea to consult with your lawer.
I have to agree I was also impressed with Mandrake 10.0, not to mention I finally got all my speakers to work properly. But sadly enough, I have always had some issues with installer (prior to 10.0), mostly it overwrote my MBR and then asked me if I wanted to install LILO somewhere else, which I actually did. 10.0 on the other hand didn't have this issue, though this time I wasn't be able to create boot diskette. Not really a problem, because I always have Knoppix CD around, but still kind of bugs me. Let's hope 10.1 will be a perfect one;)
At last: a pool opponent who doesn't spend the entire match distracting you by chalking their cue!
And what makes you think he [robot] is not going to chalk his cue?

2) Take a look at SessionSaver http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#sessions aver
If you'll run into troubles during installation just go to about:config -> extensions.disabledObsolete and set it to false.

One, two, three... and now it's gone again.
Hmmm... I thought it was Arnold Schwarzenegger's job.
Anyways, it's also possible to use dot at the end of the .com, eg. http://georgewbush.com./

No ogg vorbis support :( I'm disappointed...
Wake up!
Since 2000, Windows has been at least as stable as Linux, if not more so.
2000 is the only usable OS from Microsoft. Come on! you don't really mean XP is as stable as Linux?!

Wonder what RIAA thinks about it?
I haven't tried it yet, but my guess is it would say something like this: "(Blah blah) this page requires you to run Internet Explorer (blah blah)"
Does anyone know if FICS (Free Internet Chess Server) uses the same security scheme and therefor also compromised?

Plus, it might help if you get lost in the heavy forests and start treking toward the Soviet border.
;)
In this case you should press the RETURN button on your time travelling device and go back to 2004 as there's no Soviet today
Estonia actually WAS in Soviet Russia

I think the more general term Evolutionary Algorithms would be more appropriate here, as Evolution Strategy would also apply to what you're suggesting.
Doh! A robot swinging with a cue and Kasparov trying to defend himself with a chessboard... oh it will beat him, alright!

1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers or for those of you who are into microelectronics it's 1609344000000 nanometers.
First they are DDOS'ed and now they are going to be /.'ed.. what a day..
"Of course once we find the first aliens there's the question of can we decode their signals, would they spot our reply, and what's the lag time."
No.. the real question is whether they'll be interested in destroying our planet after they spot our reply.
