    Or option ii)b. The models are wrong, the scientists should be capable of realizing this, but because of deeply-engrained patterns of thinking, innocently overlook any evidence that might contradict what they're saying.
    Also, Pavlov was right. Publish doomsayer study (A), get research grant. Publish happy-puppy-flower study (B), get canned. How many researchers would continue publishing (B)?

    How exactly do you nuke a corporation...

    Generally requires top-secret security clearance, and turning two keys simultaneously. I think the electronics take care of the rest.

    Given that quite a few people that use W*nd*ws seem to do all their "work" reading a certain popular website and getting boned by IE, spyware, and a few viruses, the last claim seems even reasonable.
    I, just btw, proudly have not a single legit copy of any MS product. I wonder if they'll verify my operating system as being legit. ^^;

    That's because nearly all distros run either GNOME or KDE, both of which are badly bloated. Linux itself is only as bloated as /you/ make it.

    A well-configured linux with a simpler gui can run nicely on something Win3.1 would choke on.

    Yeah Firefox is better the minute it can load in less than 2 seconds.
    I'd rather my browser loaded when I went to surf the internet, rather than the moment I turn on my computer(poke-poke, MS). A few more seconds to load a major program isn't a bad thing. I complain when Minesweeper takes 45 seconds to load.

    This may be(and yeah, probably is) completely off-topic.

    But...what was so wrong with releasing things into the public domain?

    ISTR downloading quite a few PD programs, back in the day. It seemed to work well enough...

    Interestingly enough, the same build of Firefox(0.8) on Linux(LFS5.1) runs vastly better than it does on Windows(XP Home) when downloading many different files simultaneously.

    Personally, I think it's a conspiracy. You're supposed to download your files with Internut Exploiter so that you can get pwned by threehotchicks.jpg.

    Idiots get pwned. It's a fact of life, kinda like how geeks don't get laid. *shrug*
    I dunno about anyone else, but I'll charge said idiots the same to fix their pwned linux box as I would to fix their pwned windows box.
    Meanwhile, I like running an OS nobody else understands. Like to see some loser around here try to snoop in my porn collection^W^Wbank information.
