Social Security is 15% (up to ~90K/year) by itself (assuming you are self employed, which would be thier other choice) Medicare is another 9% (OK, not actually positive about this, its been a year since I have done payroll) or so, so its even more than you assume. And then there are loopholes: "need" a new Mercedes? (better still a Hummer, those are a big tax write off) Have the company buy it, and write it as an expense, so it comes out of pre tax income. Do similar things with other purchases.
Yeah, the current tax system is SOooo fair.
I have the same processor, OCed to 2200 MHz (thats real MHz, not a + rating) and it seems to run about 20 degrees C over ambient temp at full on processor usage, and it will knock a good 3-5 degrees off of that if I use a loud fan, but that is quite annoying and I have never seen it over 55 or so ( any more than that and the ambient is high enough that I turn on the Air Conditioning:P ) Obviously taking much of any conclusion from such a small sample size would likely be erroneous, but I think mine is closer to average from what I have seen.
Isnt the hardware business more of an Oligopoly situation? Not very many players, and high entrance cost makes it a hard business to get into. and all software definitely isnt a monopoly market, the OS market is pretty close though.
I do believe that was Bradbury's objection (that his book would be tied to anybodys political piece, be it GW Bush, MM or anyone else)
And I am just guessing here, but Farenheit 451 being what it is, I would guess that it would have a 50th anniversary ed. regardless.
To use a car analogy, the people "moaning about the price" are kinda like the people who modify cars (Supras, Mustangs, Corvette, RX-7 etc) so they are as fast/faster than a ferrari, for half the price. They too talk about how overpriced the ferrari is. Crazy, but true.
Except we build computers, not cars and are talking about 1000s of dollars rather than 10s or 100s of thousands.
Yeah, but can you bash my head in with Bubba the Pink elephant? I want to see the prof. tell me the chair doesn't exist after I smash it upside his head.
German Driving license requirments should be the model for the world (or at least the US, since thats where I live:p ) They tend to be Logical and require far more training for a license, and the license test isnt easy! unlike here.
How often would I have a 30% chance? Once a week? Once a month? Once a year? I could go for the first two: Once a year would be a bit harder, and any more than that, forget it.

Good Lord man, did you actually READ Battlefield Earth? Absolute trash! One of the worst books I have ever read.
Perhaps then, its time to reduce the weight of all vehicles, not just the effecient ones and the fast ones, and the motorcycles...
