Err, no? Your article says:
"The sample processors, known as the Penryn family within Intel, are being made at a factory in Oregon, and the company is on track to begin selling the chips in the second half of 2007, said Mark Bohr, director of process architecture and integration at Intel."
and
"AMD is expected to ship its first processors made using 65-nanometer technology by the end of 2006, and the company has said it wants to get 45-nanometer products on the market by the middle of 2008 as it tries to close the gap with Intel."
looks to me like AMD will have shipped 65nm processors before Intel will be shipping 45nm according to the source you provided. even if AMD ships their first 65nm product in first half 07, that is still before Intel is slated to start selling their 45nm products.
I think you mean "every single instance" rather than "every single instants" though considering the current law on sampling it is likely correct as it reads now, albiet incorrectly pluralized.
"With the complete destruction of civil liberties you've pointed to"
Nice strawman argument a destruction of civil liberty need not be complete to exist. nor does torture need to happen daily.... etc.
What about large projects (EG any video game made in the last 3 years or so) with multiple coders? Do they all get a copyright on thier portion of the code and then license that to the company? wouldnt this solution give $company the right to tell its employees something like "we pay to license your code, thus we no longer pay hourly."? Sounds like it would be a bit more complicated to me. I'm not entirely against the idea yet, but it sounds like it might be more trouble than its worth.
Not all debts, When my dad built (had built for him really, semantics) his first house he had to pay a school tax of a several thousand, because he is a smartass he decided to pay it in coins, he dragged a couple of sacks of quarters down there, and they promptly refused to accept them, and said they only accepted cashiers checks - no cash of any kind. I dont remember what excuse they used.
Ahhh yes, I see where you are coming from - there is no way most people would put up with that, and it would be what? a.5 to 1 second delay? Hell, most people I know have the vehicle in Drive within a second or less of startup. Accusump looks like an excellent solution, most especially for turbocharged vehicles as it eliminates the need for a turbo timer (leaves the vehicle running for a minute or two while the turbos spool down - a solution I have always felt was rather less than elegant)
I am curious why you think Car Owners would be dissatisfied with a dry sump oiling system? since most car owners don't/wouldn't know the difference between dry and wet sump, why would they care? beyond the fact that it might add a small amount to the cost of a car (though with mass production, who knows? it might end up being cheaper)
Any Hummer (Civvie or otherwise) gets left for dead by a Wrangler Rubicon off road. Unless the Mil-spec hummer cheats by using the mounted MG or TOW:P Hummers are fucking pointless for Civvies.
Sounds like another pain in the ass to avoid when filling up my motorcycle.
On Topic though, Fuck paying by the mile. A 400 lb motorcycle doesnt wear away the road as quickly as a 2500 lb car doesnt wear the road as quickly as a 7500 lb Humvee etc. Making Pay by mile reasonably fair would be more complicated than its worth, just up the gas tax if they need (ha!) more revenue.
No, They are not. I am not saying they cannot change thier minds, but public officials should have a set of opinions/beliefs/a philosophy that they hold to (and perhaps change as they change, if they decide they are wrong, or there is a better way of doing things), and vote on legislation based on that set of beliefs/opinions/philosophy so we can in turn vote for them based on whether or not we agree with their beliefs/etc. Period. They shouldnt be changing with the political winds so to speak. If they do so, how are we supposed to get a good read on them? But unfortunately, changing with the political winds is usually what gets one elected. and that is the goal of most politicans after all
I think if you wanted to knock a plane out of the sky by blinding the pilot and co-pilot, the best place to do so would be takeoff and landing, not only are they close to the ground (which you presumably want them to hit) so they have less time to react, plus the added "bonus" of the plane possibly hitting other buildings and such. oh, and it would be easier to target too.
That might be in what its used for: a 450 is fine for interweb browsing and email and such, but for a gaming boxen a 1.46 Ghz will be feeling its age for sure.
No
Tax cuts are NOT spending. Period. Go take an econ class and or an accounting class. Taxes are revenue. Tax cuts mean less revenue, which means (in theory anyway, since it never seems to happen) you have to cut spending. But Tax cuts != spending.
Nah, it's obviously the Giant metal K on the NIC that makes it faster. really.

Yeah, its DX10 compatible. Daily Tech overview of G80
I believe the AC meant too cheap to meter electric power. IE, free power.
about the article, does that crescent wrench slip? if it does not, I want one; otherwise its as worthless as a normal crescent wrench.
You mean the DMCA right?

Who are you looking at for the AMD system? Personally I would just build my own, but I realize not everyone wants to do that.

Does stuff in this game go up (on average) every year? Has it done so a long period of time Or is it a fad that will be gone in 2 or 3 years?

IIRC, you dont go to prison unless your sentance is over 1 year.
I'm pretty sure there are techniques to launder money so its untraceable. Which doesnt mean these "hackers" would know how to, but there are ways.
Already happened around here :) http://www.com-pair.net/
Perfect place for it really, Rural with spotty broadband coverage.

I dunno about your car, but my parking brake has some settings between full lock and off.

Well considering the source of revenue, in 1b your citizens have 10 more to spend. which they inevitibly will.

Lets just say your average 14 year old grows a better beard than me (and I am in my middling 20s). Trust me, its better that I shave.
