"Scroll Wheel" any OS or platform that does not support this is wasting time! Hence less productive.

Won't work in NYC, most of the time my own car's GPS can't get a signal, couple that we have a massive subway system.

The punishment for not accounting where you are? Well sorry PO I was in the subway and I fell asleep.

Just cover the thing in lead and they can't track you regardless.

  3. You people forgetting one crucial point on Xbox 2 to Release in Fall of This Year · · Score: 1

Microsoft is going to win not because of market share OR higher spec machines.

They are going to win because they have a solid gaming API to give developers a serious thinking on which platform to support.

Did Team Ninja decide to release Ninja Gaiden on exclusive on XBox because it was the next big thing? nope they made that decision soely on the programming API, spend X dollars on developing in house API or spend X dollars focusing on kick ass content?

More developers = more games = more choices on bad games. I don't know about you peeps but I bought my last console on the vast choices of games on the shelf.

  4. Consumer Divergence on BBC: 2005 Looking Good for Gadgets · · Score: 1

If companies keep this up, they will find that their new product will not sell, because many people like myself will hold out thinking that a new and better gadget will be released next month.

it used to be I buy a gadget knowing that at I will be "cool" for at least 6 months, but now I find myself holding out because what's the use of buying that new Uber phone when next month there will be a better cheaper one.

what this means is that companies will find their products won't sell and that could only mean a death spiral for sales.

I agree on some level, but my sidekick II helps out a lot when I needed to lookup a review of a game that I never heard of. saved me tons of money

But the games, camera and mp3? I have a digi cam ,a gameboy and ipod for that.

  6. Nintendo's Development History on Playing the Game Boy DS Online · · Score: 1

Nintendo's been very friendly about third party software and hardware developers/hacker, for the gameboy that is, I don't know about DS.

I've heard people developed games and third party peripherals and selling it without getting a back lash, except when you are lik sing. =)
I don't know about the DS, but there's no official SDK for the gameboy, so I guess you can basically hack that thing make your peripherals without getting nintendo on your ars, because they didn't specify an official development processes. Of course this is true for gameboys, might not be true for DS =/

  7. 3D on 2D Still 2D on 3D User Interfaces · · Score: 3, Insightful

Just because you arrange your stuff in 3D does not mean that you do your work in 3D. There's just no usefulness other than eye-candy, didn't RTFA, but as long as my monitor is 2D I don't know how usefull it is to have my Word Processor or my spreadsheets in 3D. 3D is best left for games and simulations. I like my file manager, browser, desktop to remain 2D, can't find the crap as it is. Id be cool if I can "reach" into my monitor and strangle the virtual avatar of that moron thou.

  8. NES on XBox Owner Sues Microsoft · · Score: 2, Interesting

Anybody remember the bad contacts on the old front loaded NES. The famicom didn't have that problem. Stupid design. Can I sue for all the times I injured myself by jamming the cart in with excessive force? Because it only works when you use excessive force. but you gotta give it to the NES, it still works after all the abuse I unleased upon it.
