    Put that into perspective for whoever is giving this guy mod points. This device is in prototype stage. It has functional applications at a level which the inventors think would be an easily accomplished goal. Solar or batteries can be unavailable/cumbersome. I think the idea of this project is functionality at any time necessary.

Every time I read an article on Slashdot, it's always talking about some amazing achievement with solar cells or batteries using a combination of gold, platinum and unobtainium. Rare earths are going to get MUCH more rare in our lifetimes.

    Gratz you know so much about your products, Mr. Slashdot, tell that to an average business person who is only researching computers long enough to make a choice and purchase. Reading reviews are extremely helpful, but some people want to see the physical unit, for reasons like getting a tactile sense of what they're buying, seeing the quality themselves, and alleviating buying jitters when buying a complicated $500-$2000 piece of equipment.

    Yes. The quality of the trackpad and keyboard matters. You're going to be using this device probably daily for years. It's good to know how it feels ergonomically, plus it's good to get an idea of the weight and size.

    Travyon Martin was 16. You can't get a concealed carry permit at 16.

    I'm guessing you're glossing over the fact that people with vigilante tendencies, low IQs or mental problems should not be allowed to carry a gun, but do because guns are too easy to get. But hey tell that to the Pastor's daughter in Florida who was shot in the head through a wall when a security guard at the church was playing with his gun. You're absolutely right, her having a gun would have made her immune to bullets.

    I don't think guns should be banned, I think they should be controlled and only licensed to people with extensive training or military experience. You know, like Switzerland where everyone is armed because everyone is in the military.

    that ambient noise raises stress because your mind is always working on filtering it out, resulting in stress. Don't ask where though, I don't remember but studies be damned, I know when I'm working if I have headphones, I'm always less distracted by nearby conversations.

    Basic supply/demand theory is entirely classical and neoclassical, based on the work of Adam Smith and David Ricardo, most definitely pre-Keynesian. Inflation due to money supply isn't a new concept.

    After the conquest of South America, prices in Spain skyrocketed due to the influx of gold and silver into the economy. Proving that it happens with fiat currencies, gold-based currencies or any unit of measure that used to account for value, you plebeian.

    ...and I torrent because I'm rarely at home and torrent downloads are higher quality and easier to put on a big screen than HBO GO, which is often unusable because Comcast's user authentication is hit-or-miss whether or not it will accept my information. No joke, I've had half a dozen comcast calls about this issue. I stopped calling after I saw how good the quality of the torrents were.

    I bought an assortment of items for business purposes the other day, as I didn't have time to wait for stuff to arrive via Amazon.

    I returned a laptop I had purchased but never opened earlier today. They copied the info from my drivers license down. A few hours ago, I found out that a Blu-ray player I had bought wasn't working. I wanted a refund because I decided to go with another model. Wouldn't you know it? Two items, same receipt, denying me my right to a refund.

    I'm on hold with corporate right now. "We are experiencing an abnormally large call volume." Yeah, I wonder why.

    I think what this whole Anonymous situation is saying is that you don't need to be an elite hacker to break into a website with top secret information on it. All you really need is a set of instructions a lemur could follow.

    It doesn't matter that Anonymous isn't sophisticated, what matters is that they're effective.
