everybody seems to make this mistake... although the countries up North are incredibly cold, every single room in every single house has heating, so in my experience, inside is actually hotter than elsewhere.
Maybe its just because im an Australian and never owned a heater in my life.
I run windows on a 266 pii ( comeone, the only other option at the time was a k6 ), using windows 98 lite, and it runs superfast...
Off coure, when i go shopping i dont look at the computer section, and i no longer help out people who buy new computers... this way i dont have my view tainted
I find it helps to run some sort of bandwidth monitor, like dumeter for windows, so that you can tell when something is using your bandwidth. Not perfect, but does advise you of unexpected bw use.

Its like with just the readers, i remember when they first came out they were 2x, and then a year later they went to 4x, then 6x... i had a theory that the manufacturers could go straight to 32x, but preferred to release slower drives over a period, so that people would upgrade. (hey, i said it was only a theory!)
hey, i heard that you can use ordinary CD/R in this drive, to record DVD on. You just have to punch the whole in the correct place, and there yo u go, 7 * the capacity.
Maybe there should be an investigation into how these people died!
A letter from one of the deceased:
"I have been happily using microsoft products for years, and have never had a problem with them. In fact i recently requested that my life support machine be converted to run with win 95, and have not had a problem with it"
Its funny what competition can do, imagine the world without AMD, how much more people would be paying for their computers. Now imagine a world where microsoft had some real competition!
It seems more likely to me, that only smart kids could play the games. That is, you had to be smart enought to setup the game (particularly troublesome in the old days), before you could play it.
maybe you should turn the tv down?
...ok now i am confused. Are you sure this would work for the "average Joe", or "motorhead Mike"?
You are an idiot, it was obvious what he was saying, but you just wanted to go off on your little rant.

you could tell the difference between a 200 and a 233MMX relatively easily.
Bull!!! I dare you to mention an application that you could tell the difference between 200 and 233.

TV's did take a few minutes to "boot up" in the old days, and look how they turned out!
But what this does show, is an evolution of impatients in our devices, so this step may not be such a bad thing, just bring it home to out own PC's.
And i dont see why it needs to do POST tests everytime, i mean how often does something go wrong?

Maybe its the US postal service we should be blaming?? I find it very hard to believe that microsoft would stoop this low.
Or, do you _like_ being limited to 8 general purpose registers, and a crappy FPU stack? YES!
