    No, just because you can get something does not make it free. There are costs involved, and prices to pay, just ask anyone who has got a letter from the RIAA/MPAA.

    Candy from a baby is not free either. Neither are five-finger discounts free.

    I don't care if I ever get a dime in compensation, because I've already been compensated -- by the satisfaction obtained from the joy of software development and by the actual application itself, which I needed and still use today.

    And the BJs, don't forgot those.

    Obviously the terms they offered to Verizon weren't acceptable, so their greed has resulted in lower sales. Very simple.

    But probably more money. So which is better, more sales, or more profit? The deal they stuck with ATT seems to be very lucrative to Apple. Apple could have sold out a long time ago, with their OS, even with the ipod, but they stuck to their way of doing business. Not going for the lowest commmon denominator.

    The reason was that for some reason, you couldn't count on certain registers being preserved in programs for Windows 2k/NT, but you could in 95. It wasn't so much about sloppy coding, it was about different procedurs.

    Microsoft don't have to worry about stuff like this at all. They could shit in each box, and people will still buy it, as evidenced by Vista. Microsoft will have to work pretty hard to lose any considerable market share, unfortunately. People are to entrenched.

    I think this game is a good idea.

    However, one of my mates gf's has hurt her back by playing it for 30-45 minutes a day, for about two weeks.

    WTF? I am guessing that most people got bored of your post, but I actually read the last part. So you are saying you can see no progress on the front against Microsoft? You are suggesting that Linux has made no progress in the last few years, when clearly it has made a lot. Ubuntu is a huge crowd pleaser, being taken up by more and more people, business are considering Linux even more, as proved by the stories on companies moving over to Linux solution, Linux is on more and more gadgets all the time, .... what more do you want?

    Wrong. What is wrong with it doing heavy calculations, if it delays the start up of the game for 100 milliseconds? it doesn't need to send all calculations through the chip.
