This seems to assume that you have all these devices running at all times. Seems like this could be a problem amongst the devices you mentioned. Maybe its not a big deal, but seems like something to consider. I usually turn off components when I'm not using them.
PS: This is how the current system works, except your advisors are examiners. They have a monetary incentive to get you to formally abandon your patent. They do have expertise in the area. Examiner's are assigned to specific art units based on the technology. Further, they not only have knowledge of the area, they have knowledge of at least a portion of the patents that have already crossed their desk.
And yes, patents are filled with mumbo-jumbo because they are to be understood by one skilled in the art, not the general public. A patent is supposed to teach your processor design, its supposed to teach someone who knows processor design how to implement new idea X.
If you plan to edit out the commercials I would expect that you would plan to pay more the content in the first place. Maybe your cable bill will triple That, and you will see more advertising mixed into the actual show. Television shows are not produced for free. Frankly, I'd rather watch commercials than have to pay more for television. I'm all for making the two options available but it doesn't seem realistic unless all content is subscription content and media companies can stop all internet sharing.
For students, paraphrasing is a part of learning. If you can read something that someone else wrote and rewrite it in your own words you probably know the material. If you go and photocopy a page in a book all you've learned is how to make photocopies.
Further, not everything that takes time is wasteful. Copyright is intended to protect the expression of ideas, not the underlying ideas. Thus, you don't protect the idea of love or even the words I love you, but you can protect the expression of love and the words I love you in the context of lyrics to a song possibly with a musical score.
This is basically standard operating procedure for this type of thing. They are clearly interested in settling this out of court and don't want to spend a lot on legal fees. Apple will hurry to settle this to meet product delivery deadlines.
To use your analogy this is like a movie studio getting mad if a movie critic takes screenshots of the movie without permission and shows them to the public.
That ad is telling people to speak up about infringement to their employer. The implication is that if they don't speak up the company will be sued and will fold. It doesn't make sense if you assume that speak up means report your employer. Otherwise it would say: Speak up and pack up...because you'll be fired when you speak up.
I have to say that I lean towards the chosen path rather than born trait. I have yet to see one good study that shows otherwise, but I am very open to changing my opinion if I see one. However, I'd hardly call this the answer. Just because the brain structure is different doesn't mean that it was that way when they were born. I don't know, I guess I would have to see more information.

Wish I had mod-points..this about the only poster that I've seen actually understand the issue before posting!
Netflix is the new guy, I wouldn't really call them the little guy!
Wasn't looking for a funny-modifier, thanks.
Slashdot is like a grapefruit with the center removed and replaced with battery acid and thumbtacks
Which is exactly the point of these desktop searches. They search the contents of the file rather than just the filenames.
What is the case that you refer to?
And yes, patents are filled with mumbo-jumbo because they are to be understood by one skilled in the art, not the general public. A patent is supposed to teach your processor design, its supposed to teach someone who knows processor design how to implement new idea X.
As if anyone actually watches C-SPAN anyway...
Sorry about that man...your sexy ex-girlfriend was great last night!
Do you see any way around this problem?
I don't know, I wouldn't purchase windows on its own, only with a new system...

Thats like saying, "hey, Rhode Island just adopted open formats, now I'm sure the whole world will..."

In basic terms you said, I want someone to make this, but I'm not going to buy it
Or to put it realistically, I just want to bitch and moan about something, so I'll complain that phones have too many features...
This is a news for nerds site, celebrate technological advances...
Critics leak the movie, I'm well aware, which is why we have a new law imposing huge fines and jail time for such activities.
You forgot to mention that along with their comments, they submitted the pictures to the public.

Swoooooosh...--the sound of the ad going over your head!

awesome, thanks, I'm saving this to look at when I have a second.

Do you have a source for such a study? Not trying to be an a-hole, I'm curious...seriously!
